I'm happy to report that dual sport adventure rider Ken Haley has designed a special commemorative shirt for Uncle's 2008 Ride the Rio. Ken made the shirts for the 2007 TAR and they came out great - highly quality screen printing on a quality t-shirt.

T-shirts are $15, Sweatshirts are $20 for sizes S - XL. Add $1 for each extra X (XXL t-shirt = $16, XXL sweatshirt = $21, etc.).

If you would like a Ride the Rio t-shirts then paypal your order, shirt size, & payment to Ken at kdhaley@hotmail.com.

Ken will deliver the shirts at the event.

Very cool!!!! Way to go Ken!

But I'll just give you the money face to face if that's okay? That way Paypal doesn't have to get a cut.

I hope Scott doesn't object to this commercialism.

The reason I do shirts for these events is to help the promoters recoup their costs. My goal at TAR 2007 was for Richard and his family to have a free weekend. I don't think anyone can claim they didn't deserve it. I hope to do the same for Uncle.

Bill, you can pay in person, but email your size and I'll add you to the list. Otherwise, I'll forget.

Yogi, the shirts won't be printed until a couple days before the event. I've already ordered the necessary inks and need a list of sizes people want before I order the shirts. Here is the graphic for the back of a blue shirt:

I'm still undecided on what to do on the front.

Turn your .cdr file into a bitmap and post that, Ken.

It is a cute design.

Conservative like so many in here.

I think I was doing that when you posted. Hey, aren't you supposed to be working? By the way, i changed it to a 4-color. whacha think now?

What brand/model t-shirt are you going to be using? I sit between a L and XL depending on the shirt.

What is the cutoff date for ordering a shirt?

Hanes Beefy-T, the same 6.1 ounce 100% ringspun cotton shirts you get at the Harley dealers. Heavy weight fabric means the shirt is more durable. Ringspun cotton is softer and more comfortable than other processing options. Beefy-Ts cost 2 to 2.5 times as much as the cheaper shirts, but they are definately worth it. $15

Alternative if Beefy-Ts are not in stock is ..., well, there aren't any since the Jerzee ZTs are no longer available. That's why I chose a very common color.

Sweats will be Hanes PrintPro XP ComfortBlend, 7.8 ounce 50/50 cotton/polyester. These type is a little stiff when new, but soften up considerably with a few washings. However, unlike other sweats I've tried, they don't soften up to the point that they lose their fit or fall apart. They are quite colorfast and the warm, fuzzy pile on the inside doesn't shed in the laundry. $20

Alternative if PrintPros are not in stock will be Jerzees Adult Crew Sweatshirt, virtually the same specs except 8 ounce instead of 7.8 ounce, not as soft, and they cost me quite a bit more.

These are my favorite shirts, what I buy for myself and my family.

Another of my favorite sweats for sitting around campfires in really cold weather is the Hanes PrintProXP Ultimate Cotton Crew. It is 10 ounce 90/10 cotton/polyester with a 100% cotton face. If I need core insulation for really cold weather, this is it. It's simply too warm for me to wear indoors. It comes in navy instead of royal. $30

Add $1 for 2x, $2 for 3X. Deadline to order needs to be 6AM, Friday, February 15, for delivery at the event. Any orders after the deadline, well, I'll try, but not making any promises about delivery at the event. However, I will be happy to ship via Priority Mail for the actual cost. Current prices for Priority Mail are $4.60 for an envelope that will hold one t-shirt and $8.95 for a box that will hold several shirts.

Hey, everybody! Get your Ride the Rio shirts ordered before 7:00AM on Thursday, February 14, so I can order your shirts for printing the following weekend, and I won't be printing any extras. Delivery in Terlingua for no shipping charges.

P. S., Remember Valentives day so your kitchen passes doen't get pulled.

Reminder: deadline for ordering RtR shirts is only 72 hours away, Friday, 6:00AM. The press will be set up over the weekend and the actual printing will be done on Monday.

Deadline for ordering shirts is 6:00AM, Friday, February 15.

Those of you who wanted shirts and didn't order them have one more chance. I'm ordering some pink shirts to print for Kathy, so I can add a few more blue shirts to the order.

Same prices as above, plus $5 for shipping per order no matter how many shirts on the order, if necessary. Deadline to order is Friday, 6:00 AM.
