I just stopped to look at it, someone lost a good looking heifer, 1500 bucks or so. Drove by later and it was gone. Probably :eat: she wasn't that tore up.

Pretty windy today in South Louisiana so decided to take Bandit out to check out a few boat launches about 30-35 miles to the West of me. Nice 118 mile ride in about 3.5 hour time. The rice fields are getting greener and fuller by the day.

And a visit to a boat launch I had not been to in about 25 yrs. You can put in here and run all the way to the Gulf of Mexico if desire.

And, in the area, a neat little find. Probably not repaired since Rita visited us years back.

Had a good little 150 mile DS ride today with some friends. Got into a little mud in places.

A two day camping trip trimmed down to one. But scouted some future camp sites while we were out. First night we had 60+ mph gusts (according to buddy's little handheld weather thing). Don't know how we didn't get blown off the mountain. I guess my tent stakes work pretty well. One of my aluminum tent poles now has a permanent slight bend to one of the sections. No sleep and it wore us slap out. A combanation of high winds low temps, no sleep, and being at 8700 feet (we live at sea level) just sucked the life out of us.

The start of 20 miles of dirt to get to Anza. There was another 12 miles after Anza to get to the camp site.

My buddy Paul finishing up his tent setup. It's a good thing we staked and guyed every spot on the tents.

Good overlook spot about 50 yards across the hill from camp.

Here's today's. Rode up into the mtns for a sandwich and beer.

These trees freak me out. Apparently woodpeckers drill the holes to get bugs then squirrels use the holes to store acorns for the winter. Who knows. I do know I imagine spiders and **** living in them and coming to kill me haha.

Well ****........guess my skid plate is done for. I've beat it back straight at every oil change but the rear mount has started to rip at the bolt holes and now the front part of the plate has bends where it shouldn't. :(

Today I took Eric and Michelle for their first real ride in Texas. They just moved to Leander from New Hampshire earlier this year. I have known them since 2009 when I bought an FZ1 and quickly became a mod on one of the popular FZ1 forums under their tutelage.

They both have beautiful FZ1s. His a blue 2013 and hers a custom painted purple.

I showed up at their house last night driving my Triumph Speed Triple R from Houston. A wonderful home made steak, shrimp and fish dinner along with a nice Stout made up for my accommodations shown below. The unicorn was a snob. Olaf was nice but in a weird uncle kind of way.

We hit the road this morning taking 1431 to Marble Falls then North to Park road 4. While at Ink lake for a photo op (below) I mentioned to Eric that the Triple came with an adjustable dog bone. I am glad I mentioned it because when he took a look he saw a nut was missing from a bolt on my suspension bracket. We were lucky to find a Napa auto parts south of there on 1430 that had the m10 X 1.25 nut I needed for a replacement. No good ride goes without some drama.

After my bike was fixed we headed to Llano for some Coopers BBQ. That is a proper Texas welcome!

From Llano we headed south to 2323 then cut over to Enchanted rock, Willow City Loop and Fredericksburg for chocolate.

After Fredericksburg we took back road to Blanco. Headed north to Marble falls where we had dinner at Bluebonnet for dinner and pie. Then 1431 back to Leander.

Eric and Michelle had a blast and they were both glad someone finally dragged them out for a ride after 9 months of being in Texas.

I look forward to riding with them again soon.

Hey WDC!
(I was there folks, he conquered that ditch even tho it was wet and slick.)
I can't believe you even fit on that bed!

If they are friends of yours then they are friends of mine. However, I must say if they've been in TX for 9 mos and have the steeds they have, it is no one's fault but their own for not getting out and enjoying the roads before now. but thank goodness you drug 'em out to see what they've been missing.

Got out today for little ride. I needed to go see fellow TWT member JMZ and my wife decided today was the day. The day that she would get on the back and see what this thing is all about. We got her geared up in some gear that I got from the Pay it Forward section here.

It was a little over 100 miles round trip and she had a great time. We were off the bike for a couple hours while we visited with JMZ and his wife.
