First of all I want to start off by saying that I have linked this ride report to our blog at http://www.motoadrenaline.net - We know that some of you don't like this idea, but retyping 8 days for text and placing a ton of pictures is time consuming. I would rather use that time riding.

Jamie and I headed out with a group from the Lone Star Riders to explore the great states of Colorado and Utah. We had a total of 21 bikes. We all split off and never had any groups larger than 7-8 bikes. A lot of people did their own thing and I feel this made the ride a huge success. Some of you follow us on facebook so I am sure that some of these pictures have been seen before. jamie took over 1000 pictures. You can see all of them on our motorcycle gallery on smugmug.

You can read the ride report here: Grand Circle Tour June 10 - 18, 2016.

Here are some pictures from the trip.

Got any solid info on the RV park where you left the truck and trailer? That's good info for future reference.

Oh yeah it is the Summerlin RV Park in Raton New Mexico. The camping is so-so but they are great people and only charged us $1 to keep the truck and trailer there.

This is when we arrived to load up for home.

Nice, just got done reading the report. You hit some of my favorite roads, as well as ones on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing.

I was privileged to participate in the Grand Circle Tour and had a great time.
Wonderful diversity of people and bikes participating.

Several times I wandered away from the ride groups just so I could stop and smell the red dirt all by myself. And to hit some side roads Jerry didn't hit. The day they went to Bryce Canyon NP, I peeled off and rode halfway down the Burr Trail. Down to the end of the pavement and back.

Made a second loop thru Monument Valley early in the morning so I could do my Neil Peart photo ops.

Thanks for letting me tag along!

Looks like a good trip. I really like The Black Canyon of the Gunnison. I would like to get back there and do some exploring of the canyon.

It's on the left before I-25 as you're coming into Raton from Texas. When you feach the Chevron station, you're right on top of the entrance. As Lobo stated, parking a vehicle & trailer is a whopping $1 per night. Last year, KP & I pitched a couple of tents under the same tree pictured here - I believe they charged us $10 to spend the night. Showers are clean, water is hot, and the couple who run the place are super friendly. You can't ask for much more. I've RVed there overnight, too, with no complaints.

If you have an extra day, the NP service runs a large pontoon boat excursion on the lake at the bottom of the canyon. 50 person capacity barge runs slowly up the river/lake and a ranger gives a talk on the interesting features. IE: There used to be a railroad along the banks of the river!
