Had a good time at the pie run today. I didn't take a count but looked like a couple of dozen bikes. Did not think to take a picture of my Coconut Meringue pie until I had eaten half of it but you can get the gist of it from the attached picture. Was as good as was the chicken fried steak.

Enjoyed meeting and talking to a bunch of people. Got so busy chatting and checking the air in my tire that I had to plug on the way down there that I didn't get any pictures of the bikes that were there, Hopefully someone did.

I enjoyed it.
Nice ride up there from Tyler with two other riders.
Talkative group of riders at our table.

Hope SL350's muffler didn't fall off again on his way back home.
Said he was going to ride some dirt on the way.

Missed Garfey, sure wanted to have a chat with him.

The carbiner held the muffler on - thanks! Great group came to help. I had dropped a muffler on the middle of the bridge over Lake Fork and bungee tied it to the rack until lunch. It took a bit to round off the connection to the header pipe (it had been run over before I could pick it up). But all was well and we made our way to the Alba car show and later a fruit stand. CFS was very good and priced right at $6.99 for the lunch special.

Great to see you guys and gals there!

Too much chicken livers! But otherwise delightful. Good to see old friends and meet new ones.

Got to Alba early enough to take in the car show and order off the breakfast menu. The cherry pie really hit the spot. Ended up in Hot Springs, AR and 525 miles for the hot day. More of the same tomorrow.

Mike (SL350) had to do a parking lot repair on a muffler.

Lots of supervisors! Actually thanks a lot for the support and donation of a d-ring and nut/bolt to hold it together for the ride home.

Enjoyed the conversation and meeting more riders. This was my first 150 mile day on my DRZ400e. All went well. Also enjoyed another day of riding with SL350.

Mike and Bill met me at the house for an 8 am departure. Instead of going around Dallas we rode through on I30. Big mistake! Even early on a Saturday morning traffic was bad and some of the drivers in cars were down right rude with their driving. We got off the 30 in Rockwall. The rest of the ride to Tiffany's was very pleasant.

After a tasty Reuben it was time for Pie. Bill and I had Blueberry and Mike had German Chocolate Pie. The Pie was great.

Have you ever felt like this?

After lunch Mike head back home and Bill and I continued towards Louisiana on the back roads of East Texas. I have posted pictures of this before but this still fascinates me and Bill had never stopped at "The Border" before. The border of the Republic of Texas and the United States. It is the only international border marker within the boundaries of the US.

Today would be a little different. When we pulled in to the marker there were a couple kids in a car doing what Sheldon on the Big Bang theory would refer to as coitus. We startled them pretty good when we pulled in on the bikes. :lol2:

We quickly took our pictures and got back on the road for Natchitoches.

We rolled into the Super 8 hot and hungry after a hot humid ride across East Texas.

After cleaning up we headed to Papa's for some seafood and a beer for dinner.

After dinner we went for a walk before heading back to the Super 8.

We both hit the hay pretty early so we could get an early start to beat the heat. We got on the road about 7:30. It was 78 with 100% humidity when we left for home. We a had a great ride home. I only took one photo on the ride home.

Buffalo/Craig, did that plug hold for you?

Yes, made the afternoon ride with no problems. Did not loose a bit of air.

Ordered a new plugging tool to replace the one I had that was not working so good anymore.

I'm late to the report. Q rode comfortably on the (4-wheeled) Honda. I was fashionably early and got to stroll the grounds with Rich, Bill, and Mike before devouring a chicken sandwich just to get it out of the way to get to apple pie. It was molto delicioso. And then I drove for about two more weeks. So it was great!
