Hmmmmmm. I wish.
Holding the clutch for 1+ hours in 104 heat index is not my idea of fun. Austin traffic sucks.

I plan to be on the road to work Monday. Recruited one of the new riders in the office too.

Go in early, stay late...or get a sweet 8 mile commute like mine. Heat is getting up there though. Ran into Austin for the weekly lunch and it was toasty.

Nope, no thanks. I'll be riding, but I'm on vacation and going nowhere near work.

Re: Ride to Work

A center-wide lunch is planned for all riders on Monday. Hopefully we get a bit of a break from this heat on Monday.

Re: Ride to Work

Don't work Mondays but I am commuting on two before and will be after.

Now, will I be riding in this heat anyway?

Re: Ride to Work

I rode the 250 in on friday. Sally was agreat choice for the grueling 3 mile journey.

Suppose Suzi will get to go Monday. Might have to take a detour or two.

Re: Ride to Work

I rode in today since I'm not working tomorrow.

I'll probably bracket it in and ride in Tuesday as well.

Only my bike and my coworkers gixxer here at the moment.

Re: Ride to Work

It was perfect weather at 7:30 when I rode the 2 miles from home to work. Now it's raining. Ha!

Pic was Actually was taken Tuesday but ya wouldn't know unless you looked, so here it is. Environmentally friendly Coworker Sandra pedaled in while I made a small CO2 contribution with Dirty Sally.

Exclamation Re: Ride to Work

Didn't ride Monday, stuff on bikes required attention and I ain't riding if there's something I know about that needs to be "fixed." But I made up for it yesterday and put 403mi on the ol' V65 Magna jbird let me have. That engine is full of stonk, everywhere, and I got abt 40mpg, overall!

The PROBLEM: A previous owner (NOT jbird, before him!) had rigged up a toggle switch so the rider could turn on the cooling fan whenever, a neat idea . . . . but he powered it by unplugging the connector from the thermostatic switch and plugging a hot lead from the battery into that, killing the OEM fan turner-on-er so the toggle was the ONLY way to turn the fan on!!!

I had to fix that!

And while I was fixing the radiator fan juice problem, I wired up GPS and a ciggie-lighter with Powerlet USB insert for charging 'lectronic stuff. And got it wrong so it blew a fuse after abt 4hrs on the road, when the temp was in the 90's, so I'm gonna re-do it, using heavier wire (18ga, maybe even 16, but big enough to carry a 20A fuse, anyway) from the batt to the h-bar area. The 22ga the PO had used was apparently just enough to run the fan, but not the fan and GPS (insignificant power draw) at the same time.

Re: Ride to Work

Well I missed Riding to Work on 6/20. But, I did ride to work last few days. I am able to park my bike in the shade right outside my window. It's my 2014 Honda XR250L. Fun little bike to ride.

I told my wife the bike is like a faithful dog, waiting for its master to come out and play.

Re: Ride to Work

It is fun to look out the window and see your bike. Ah, the possibilities...

Re: Ride to Work

I work from home... No riding to work for me. The street bike gets considerably less miles now. I just ride for fun now.

Digging that! I can't see mine 2 feet out the window, but I do revel in all the comments all day from the Harley riders at work about how I shouldn't be in the grass - bikes are meant for pavement.

Even more fun burning them on the way out of the lot!
