some people pictures.

Dennis and Kathy caged it since they had other places to go. They brought their pup as well:

Debbie (Snoopster) brought her sister and niece. Rebecca (Squeaky) also got in the picture...

Nothing particularly special, nothing blinks except for turn signaling. But taking the pic, I realized, it is pretty noticeable.:eek2:

Noticeable it is!
Looks great, thanks.

Got my witness statements signed, filled the tank and got my starting receipt just prior to 2 am on Friday and we hit the road. 18 hours later we arrived at the hotel in Hutto to grab a few hours of sleep. Other than a couple of sprinkles around Van Horn that lasted about 30 seconds we had great weather all the way over.

After seeing some old friends, meeting some new ones, getting my banner signed by the attendees, eating some great pie, and sweating in the Texas Humidity (yuch), we headed for home by way of Ft Stockton on Saturday evening. Lots and lots of rain to deal with but we trudged on through it and made it to the hotel about 8 pm.

After minimal sleep (long story, rude and loud people, cops called} we grabbed some breakfast and hit the road about 6:45 am. We fought wind from the right almost all the way across Texas and then wind from the left all the way across New Mexico, but we had cool weather and good cloud cover until just before reaching Arizona. After a quick stop at my sister's house in Benson, we got back on the highway and reached the driveway right at 6 pm.

Total mileage for the trip... 2160.

HERE is the link to the actual route.

Chuck, thanks again for what you do each month to put these Pie Runs together. So when are we going to do one out-of-state... Pie Town, NM for example?

Kurt, Rebecca, Deb, Jeff... it was great to see you all again. I'm glad you all could make it.

Glad you made it safely, Brenda is a real trooper to agree to ride pillion for that distance!

Looks like an alien mothership all lit up to grab a few Earthlings.

This evening she said "we'll have to do something else to beat that". :eek2:

However, she's the one cutting zzzzzzz's right now while I'm the one yakking on the internet about it. :-P

Glad that you are home safely, Brian.

Good to see the 2 of you again (although Brenda didn't remember me :lol2: )

It was good to finally be able put some real faces to the avatars since I have been able to do a pie run since that ultra-hot Hutto one back in 08. Looking forward to the next one.

I even coached her ahead of time to remind her of the evening at King's in Montgomery when you and Susan rode down. But that was a long time ago.

Oh, and I was derelict in not mentioning Beth and the kids in my previous post. It was great to see you too. We're sorry Scott couldn't make it.

I came in the truck with my sister & niece.

I was visiting my family in Killeen & had to make the hour drive to see Brian "Texas T" & Brenda arrive from AZ.

I sat at the cagin' table:

My family, Beth & the kiddos and Randy & Amanda with their daughter

Randy "Cherioer" and Amanda

Becca "Squeaky" and I

The best peach cobbler I've ever had

It was awesome seeing Brian & Brenda.

Ansley was facinated with Brian putting on his helmet

The Friday kiddos

We had a great time and the pie was so good as usual.
Would the guy with the other Concours pm me please. Someone was asking what you refinished your dash with. I have no memory.

Inside photos, identify yourself if you wish...

I joined this table, pure business!

It was just Leon (focus frenzy) and myself that rode down but Robin and BeemerBob joined us to head back north. We stopped in Granger to put some rain gear on 'cause we were looking at a black sky ahead.

We got pelted for awhile around Bartlett and Holland but made it to Little River Academy for a break. That's when I found that my Kawasaki wouldn't start - OK, the starter motor didn't run. Leon gave me a quick push down an incline and we were back in business.

We skirted the storm by going west to Belton. We stopped again in Valley Mills and Bob abandoned us. Well, he lives there. ;-)

We shed the rain gear there and didn't have any additional precipitation problems. Oh, Leon gave me another push start, too.

---

Made it home and planned to troubleshoot the starter problem Sunday afternoon. Well, the dang thing worked! :zen: Must have hung the clutch switch in the rain or something - anyway, no probalems since then. :thumb:

Thanks to all that joined us at the Texan Cafe. Unofficial count was 50+ or so.

For any of you on Facebook, there is a page called Traces Of Texas that I follow. Today he posted a street scene of Hutto Texas

20841085_1619292994769490_1236337133866497487_n.jpg

along with a Google Maps link of what the buildings look like today:
https://www.google.com/maps/@30.544...4!1sLf9w0JjDAdVo7a6UnOP7CQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

The original scene triggered something in my memory banks so I clicked on the google link and then scrolled to the right. Guess what I saw? ;-)
