While in Celina for this month's Pie Run, a local beat reporter for the Celina Record showed up to get our story, and here it is :trust:

Ride for pie: Motorcycle group visits Celina

[edited to add link to updated version of article with correct address for TWT site]

Great story! Thanks Scott for all you do to make this forum great.

It's nice to see motorcycles in a good light in the news....even if just in a local rag. It's especially cool being as it's our own little "family" here on TWTex.

Excellent!! Great step forward in correcting the image of today's riders. :rider:

cool beans. :thumb:

...united by its passion for most things with two wheels that go fast,..

I just hope anyone that reads that statement doesn't get the mistaken idea this forum is all squids and ricky racer wannabes.

Otherwise...nice article.

Very cool. Hopefully that line about things that go fast will keep all you slowpokes away. ;)

:lol2:

That's cool.
Race bikes, huh? Now I really wish I'd been there.

WAYDAGO, SCOTT!!
Now, how about a pie run for us folks in the Pacific Northwest?

Well, the original Pie Man is up in Seattle now... ;-) Maybe you guys could get something organized for the October International Pie Run Day?

Nice! And I wore my new TWT black t-shirt yesterday to the HAMWED. Too bad the "motorcycle image" is still largely defined by the Peter Fonda wannabes :(

There was a time not too long ago that when a group of bikers cruised into town, parents would call their kids inside their homes and lock the doors.

How times have changed.

When about 85 motorcycle enthusiasts drove into Celina on Saturday morning, the only threat they posed was to the apple and cherry pies in town.

Sheesh. But kudos Scott for getting your Suzuki V-Strom 650 mentioned in the article. Your gas mileage will improve ;)

Cool! Are they still drawing pretty good sized crowds? It has been several years since I have been. It is just over 100 miles each way for us to attend. There was a very wide variety of bikes in attendance though and folks seemed very friendly to riders of other styles.

Last night was the biggest of the three I've attended, around 50-60 bikes. I was told last night by Bubba that the Ice House owners set up HAMWED as a metric bike night, as their usual crowd is Harley riders. There were about 15 Harleys in the group, probably their usual customers. It was pretty cool, everyone was friendly.

Scott,
I don't know how much it is, but you could buy the wrong domain that was written and point it here.

Can you PM me with contact info? Tks in advance,
Wally:rider:

Just PM Wczimmerman.

Scott,

I figure if anyone that rides is interested, they can easily Google "Two Wheeled Texans" ;-) It is not like this is the Houston Chronicle or the Dallas Morning news with potentially millions of readers ;-)

Snoopster, thanks for not telling them my name. The internet is one thing, but being named as your boyfriend in a newspaper could possibly get me in trouble!
