Mish is battling breast cancer, has done the mastectomy with lymph node removal, and is doing chemo. She finished up the initial rounds before the holidays and started the heavier dose week before last. This heavier dose is hitting her hard and she had to check into mid-level ICU today. Please say a little prayer for her.

The number people I know personally that are fighting cancer is kind of freaking me out a bit. It seems like every prayer list I am on is massively dominated by cancer as well. Some are beating it, but some have passed on. It is nice to hear some good news from someone fighting it!

She is doing much better. She was alert today and getting her strength back. The chemo infusion had caused her white blood cell count to drop and her body developed an infection from head to foot. Her blood cell count is back up now to pre-chemo levels and the infection has receded. She's going to have a test tomorrow to deterrmine the status of the infection and, if it it looks good and everything goes as planned, she will be moving to a rehab facility on Saturday. They aren't going to attempt the chemo infusion any more and just do the radiation. She said they mentioned she may have to take a pill form of the chemo, but there will be no more infusions. Thanks again for everyone's prayers and well wishes.

Update: she’s over the whole body infection and rehydrated. They moved her out of ICU and into a regular room. She still has an infection related to a picc line she had and that’s the main thing keeping her in the hospital. The infection is getting better and she’s on an antibiotic. If everything goes well, she may be moved to a rehab hospital next week.

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers.

Thank to everyone’s prayers, Mish got out of the hospital Saturday and is staying with her sister. She was in the hospital the better part of 2 months, but now is up and walking although a bit wobbly. Thank you all for your support.
