Images from yesterdays and last night from 24 hour Gutbuster from north of Dallas. Photo credit to Craig Reed. Race was stopped at 12 hours due to so many bikes broke down on course and most folks had quit anyway! A real tough one for sure.:giveup: To clarify, not me, friends from here formed 2 teams for Cycle Shack North racing.

Yea, based on current conditions, I'd guess the mud was pretty bad. Good thing the sun came out and at least gave you nice weather yesterday though, even if you were playing in a huge mud bath.

Wow that is for the folks who are sponsored and riding someone else's bike.
 
It took a while but over the years I have learned some things are just plain stupid,,,,,,that is one of them.
 
I used to love taking the Jeep out in some mud. Got over that as time went on. All mud did was infiltrate and destroy things prematurely. If it's in the way sure. If there's a way around, I'm going that way.

When I trail ride I always take the path of least resistance, way easier on me and the bike!
 
:tab I know a LOT of riders hate sand. Me...? I love it. I'll take sand over ANY mud ANY day! Mud is like Kryptonite to my riding abilities... I just have never been able to figure out how people ride when there is almost zero traction :shrug:
 
In Argentina the front wheel locked up with mud and I skied down the hill from there. I remember thinking, "I'm a long way from home, to be sliding through the mud!" That's my wheel path, coming down the hill from in the ditch. I couldn't stop, had to keep sliding.

That was scary mud, but nothing like the pictures above.

Ahh to be young again... My son raced this event and I think if it hadn't been for the commitment to his team and sponsor he may not have ever gone. But I think once it was underway that desire to compete kept them going.

I've been to events where the haulers had to be pulled out, but they were actually pulling the haulers into this one.

The good thing about Mason, his will look new again!
 
I cleaned my bike last night and I'm pretty certain I've never cleaned so much mud off my bike (and I've ridden in mud a fair bit). It took close to an hour with the pressure washer to get the mud off. After a lap my supposedly sub 230 lbs bike had to weigh close to 300 lbs. This race was an interesting adventure for sure.
 
Great pictures guys. I sure don't miss cleaning the bike after rides.

Anyway, when are guys gonna get wise and get a Christini? They mod frames for KTMs. Don't have to worry about burying the bike anymore, it stays on top and tracks straight every time. Sand or mud.
