Bob it was a good ride got 112 miles in. The best part was the piece of chocolate cake that Rex brought me. His mother in law made it so I sure hope she still likes him. This is all that’s left.

Thanks for the invite, I like cake.

I got in a nice ride today. It was only about 100 miles of mostly dirt roads. A LOT of the roads have BIG chunky fresh gravel on them which makes the right corners fun! I had a great chopped beef sandwich at Mallett Bros BBQ in Iola for dinner. Then found some really nice Blue Bonnets South of Roans Prairie off CR 219.

Man I hate that crossing. I've done it multiple times and somehow have never fallen, but there have also been several times where I chose not to risk it because even walking across was iffy...

These are shots from a ride out to Big Bend back in April of 2005 for a TWT rally held in Alpine. I walked out with the camera first. The KTM thought he had it, but fell in the last five feet. The guy on the GS didn't wait for the KTM to get completely across before he started. The GS rider tried to slow after the KTM went down and of course went down instantly. Then we had to keep his GS from washing over the edge because the water at that spot was several feet deep! I hit a deer on Pumpville Road SW of Camp Easy later that day with my GS. I didn't go down, but it sure hurt... I swear that deer just teleported right in front of me! It came from the left and the KTM rider was right o my left just ahead of my dust cloud and he never saw it even though it crossed in front of him to get to me. The first he saw of it was when he was dodging it as it bounced off me back toward him! Fun times! :-P

It took my left jug to the head at 65mph... It's body snapped around and SLAMMED into my left leg. Nothing broken on me, but it was SORE for the rest of the weekend!
