I'm guessing you guys plotted out gas stops? What's the longest stretch you've encountered so far?

Hi Rob, day3, Blanding to Moab was the longest stretch for gas stops, 172 miles. My 690 has a stock tank, 3.2G. I carried a fuel bladder that holds about 1.5 gallons. I'll post the tracks after I finish the pics.

Wow, that's a long stretch! I have no idea what my range is on the new (to me) CRF450L with the IMS 3 gal. tank. Even at 50 mpg, it wouldn't make it, so carrying extra fuel would have to be the ticket. Looking forward to those tracks, but sure wish I was there with you guys right now!! Still recovering from knee surgeries, but can't wait to get back on the dirt again. Enjoy the rest of the ride, be safe, and keep posting up. Guess I'll have to live through you fellers till then, lol.

The part we did was easy class 1, but gorgeous scenery. I would do this whole trip again and not change much except maybe add two days camping in UT.

My impression as well. You DO need to keep an eye out for other vehicles though. I was almost run off the road by a logging truck that refused to move to his side of the road as we approached!! Most everyone else was courteous. That last little bit on the North end with the switchbacks was kind of cool.

The other ride in that area I want to do is the trek up over the mountains between Moab and Gateway.

Great report JT. Great pictures. Sometimes I wished I still had my 690, but I have the VFR so let me know and we can meet up.

Sam
