Hi fellow TWT riders... Just posting about our little trip to northern Mexico Oct 21-25. We had an awesome time, great scenery, good friends, a true adventure.
We were hosted by Beto's Offroad Ranch
http://www.ranchomx.com
aka "El Chupadero del Caballo"...
(the internationally famous hunting/ motorcycle offroad riding ranch) in Coahuila northern Mexico. They treat you like a king. The best for private access to some of the best desert motorcycle riding in the area.
A little history on the ranch name...The creek behind the ranch house is called “El Caballo” Creek…There is a well in the middle of the Creek where they get water for the house…According to legend - the main road has been around since early 1800’s (maybe more!) - Indians would use the main road for trade and the Ranch was a spot they would water their horses at…So, over the years the spot became know as “El Chupadero del Caballo”…the closest translation that doesn’t sound weird would be: “The Horse watering hole”. Over the years people would just say “El Chupadero” for short.

rode or transported their bikes (and one 4x4 Excursion) to Del Rio/ Cuidad Acuna, most got permits and rode 60 miles to Beto's Offroad Ranch.
Oct 22 After the ranch providing fuel, food and water, etc...we rode 135 miles round-trip from the ranch to 4 Palmas Mine.
Oct 23 After sleeping late and eating a delicious home cooked breakfast, we rode to Cerro Nevado (a stunning scenic campsite) where we enjoyed chimney grilled cheese burgers by our host Beto and his ranch hands who are also available in route assistance, emergency extraction etc etc. That night we were amazed to a clear view of the Milky Way and the most stars in the sky, comparable to Big Bend night skies.
Oct 24 Again after sleeping to a restful, cool, starry night, we enjoyed a slow scenic mostly class 2 ride, with a few class 3 rock garden sections. Getting back to Beto's Offroad Ranch, we enjoyed fish for lunch and steak for dinner. Beto's infamous motto is "No one goes hungry... on my watch "
Oct 25 Headed back to the Haitian-free Del Rio/ Acuna border crossing. And then on to our individual homes back to Houston, San Marcos, Austin and the RGV.
Stay tuned to rider stories, their pics and vids...
