Again and again, I am startled by just how very unbeautiful hanging pictures in hotel rooms are.

Tonight's example. Had to include the purple bedspread.

Now the full effect

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, but still...

What you got? If in your travels you come across a truly bad example of art, post it up! Share the misery!

Next time I stay somewhere, I'll have to remember the art. I've stayed may places back when I traveled for work. There were a few times I remember shaking my head, but never took a pic because I didn't think it was worth sharing back then.

Sorry Spirit, Buck's the current winner....

Who can top that one?

Quick, someone go to Truth or Consequences, check in to the Pelican Spa and take pix of the crazy murals in the rooms!

You'd think after 40 years of hotel/motel/holiday inn living I'd have a ton of them. The one that caused a bit of sleep issues was some brutal velvet paintings of various bullfight scenes in a Guadalajara hotel.

One of the weirdest was Hotel Murano in Tacoma, which is all about glass art, and when I got off the elevator on my floor, I was face to face with a display on the wall of a dozen or so blown glass boobies. No time to dig out the pics.

I stayed in a motel in Midland with the chalk outline of a body on the carpet and blood splatter on the wall. the carpet was sticky enough to pull the socks off your feet.

motel in Corpus Christi where some moss or something was growing in the concrete shower and room service kept coming by wanting to know if we wanted some fun.

never let a cheap employer pick your motel for you!

I'm with "notyou83" - seen some that genuinely had me thinking, "Really? Really? Someone actually thought THIS is attractive?" Never thought to take pics of the pics, though. This thread could be fun - just may change my life. Or at least my habits when i hit an odd hotel...

Oh, and UncleBuck - the bunnies dancin' over your head in Austin - that's just plain WIERD. (Maybe not by accident....??? Ha)

If I stop at a motel it’s because I don’t want to sleep in my truck or really need a bath , can’t say that I even looked at the room art . I do like the Wyoming pictures on the walls of the cabins at the RV park I stay at in Shell . They are prints of local photos .

Gee, I thought I have stayed at some crappy places. You'll win.

I was gifted this "object de art" around 15 years ago and told that it was salvaged from a motel in El Paso. It's hung in my office at work most of the time since then. I don't know if it has any historical significance, but I like to ponder the the life experienced by the pilot.

I spend so many nights in hotels 162 nights so far this year, I don't even recognize any wall art in them anymore I am kind of numb to anything hanging on the walls in them
