I just returned from my longest solo run . Rode every day even in 16 degrees with snow . Covered New Mexico , Colorado , Utah , California from central to north to south , Oregon , Washington , Arizona , and Texas . Shortest day 10 miles while snowed in Solina Utah off I 70 west of Moab , and longest day 830 miles from Tracey California to Snohomish Washington . That day saw Snow , Sleet , Hail , and Rain through the Cascade mountains on I 5 .
Great trip with tires making the mark , and one oil change in Reading California . Big thing was meeting Mike Broke the 2021 Iron Butt Rally Champ on his gen 2 Hayabusa .
Went to the Rock Store in California .

Maybe the mods can move it to Story Telling and Tire Kicking which is the ride reports section.

I am enjoying the report. It is amazing just how pretty I-5 is at the California-Oregon border. I bet that weather made it quite the adventure. Is that Mount Hood above?

Wow! Just Wow! What a ride that had to be.

I, for one, am a) impressed b) inspired and c) envious.

and d) warm and cozy. I've ridden in a little snow & hail, but nothing like what's in those photos. Heated gear, I assume?

Yep, Yep, Yep
Nice ride and beautiful pictures. I'm heading to Montana next week and I thought I was a month early. Heated everything, I hope. Did your eye lashes ever freeze together when you blinked?

I'd love to see an overall map of this ride...
I did not map it or use a app . I went where it felt right . Many back roads , and interstate . I5 is beautiful to ride till Portland . What a pop show that was .
Heated jacket / glove liners / grips . However grips are useless with thicker winter gloves so in comes the liners . Daytona boots keep the feet dry and warm however not much keeps feet warm when its below 24 degrees .
Rough route . Sugar land to Carlsbad NM via back roads 90 to 71 to 190 then north through more back roads I cant remember . Left NM for via 285 at Las Vegas NM took 25 to Colorado springs then went to Cedar edge CO via 50 . Then to Salina Utah where weather stopped me for a day . I70 to I 15 down into LA Lakewood . Rode around many canyons and PCH / Rockstore then to Van nuyas CA to vist more family . Then Tracey CA via I5 for time reason on Easter.
Rode Bear valley / Yosemite and Coarsegold areas . Left Tracey CA for Snohomish WA via I5 . Rode around Woodinville , and Tacoma WA . Stayed in Lakewood WA for a day with family . Headed back down to LA to meet up with a friend to head to Oceanside , and then San Diego . Rode Palomar mountain south and east grades . Many other roads and areas I did not know the roads as my friend was leading .
Left San Diego for Arizona up 67 to 78 west to pick up I 10 in Mesa Verde . Ten to Phoenix to visit friends and ride around for a day .
Then West Via Ten to Sonora Tx for a rest 794 miles in ten hours with just four splash and go fuel stops . Last day left Sonora for home via ten as I just wanted to get home .
There were many roads ridden I just went down , and several dirt / gravel roads for exploring but no hardcore stuff being alone .

The Kenda Big block pavers did pretty well even in gravel . 11/32 rear new , and returned home with 5/32" front was 6/32 new and home with 4/32"
ran 38 front / 40 rear . started 40/42 but pretty stiff sidewalls so lowered air for more comfort over the road imperfections
