Re: Spring Burger Bash 03/03/07 10:00am

:rider:  :eat: I had a very nice time. Many thanks. We got the new shoes on Houstonredrider and hopefully the Ducati that was in ICU was able to make it home. I had never done any m/c tubeless tires before or balancing so it was a good learning experience for me. I will be buying a can of that tire lube asap. rh

Re: Spring Burger Bash 03/03/07 10:00am

Super event, much enjoyed. Thanx to all who helped me dispose usable gear and supplies now that I have no bike. Special thanx to Scott and family for hosting all the burger cramming crowd. Thanx also to Scott's older but still wee one. I'd forgotten how sweet a 2 year old girlchild can be sitting on your lap. To those who expressed interest in some of the items but couldn't make it to Huntsville for the "burger burn"... sorry, none of the stuff came home with me. If I find anything I missed bringing, I'll post it up on "paying forward."

Thanx again, all... a most enjoyable several hours.

I want to thank Scott and Beth for a nice event, you always make us feel like family.

Thank yall for the help putting the new shoes on the bike. They were a little bit over due.

I want to thanks also Deb for taking care of dispossing my used tires.

I want to thank also my bike for not highsiding me on my way to Huntsvile after the front tire (the worn out front tire) loose traction and the steering started shaking while two new tires were precariously strapped on the back seat.

I can not forget my mom and dad if they read this....[Music stars playing and leave the stage]

It was nice seen everybody. I hope that Duc Monster made it home without drama.

JR - thanks for the gloves. They fit much better than the ones I had, so I am keeping those and paying mine forward since the fingers were too short for me.

I got there too late to meet and hang out with some people, but it was a loooong day. Here are a few of the pics I took:

Bob was trying to help Scott get the KLR back together

Sarah got to play with Max...

Bob also got a hand in the burger grilling process!

I escorted Deb and Vaughn back to Houston proper, albeit the looong way (sans lunar eclipse viewing)

Scott,

Thanks to you and the family for a great day. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Thanks for all the concern Saturday, but me and "pegleg" Ducati made it home safe and sound that evening. Papa-Therm (Stu) flew us into Downtown easily....a bit warmer than the ride up.
Any pics tho will have to be put up by the witnesses as I was too busy dirty-ing up Scotts garage then stuffing my face :)

Thanks again for the concern and the well wishes..I was really great seeing everyone we hadn't seen in a while!! :thumb:

Howdy,

:tab Well, I did not have to send anyone off to Starbucks :-P The first comers started arriving a little after 10:00am :thumb: We goofed off and visited as I tried to get my laptop video to feed to the big screen tube so I could show this year's Dakar Rally. Other folks start to drift in a few at a time...

:tab Being a hostess is hard work and wears one out :-P She made it until about 7:00pm and then just fell over where she sat while watching the Dakar Rally coverage :lol2: I had a great time and really enjoyed seeing old friends and making several new ones. We had a good bit of food left over, but it will all be gone soon :trust: I may have to skip posting on the "Monday Morning Weigh In" thread tomorrow...

Now, how did I know that was coming? :-P

Thanks for hosting the lunch, Scott. It was great seeing you and your family again. The food was fine and plentiful, and the home-made sausage James brought was excellent. :thumb:

Thank you Scott and Beth, for letting us "crash" the party.;-)

It was a pleasure seeing everyone.:rider:

Hey watch who you call a "supervisor", to some of us that's a dirty word. I was a spectator! Had a wonderful time. It was great getting to spend a little more time with you and family. Your wee ones are adorable to say the least, and so polite. Ok, maybe polite doesn't apply at Daniel's age, but Sarah was a joy to be around.

I wish I could have stuck around to watch the video, but turned out Sunday was a very long day - lots of fun though!!

Thank you so much for making me feel welcome.

:thumb: and  to the Fridays for hosting this event. It was good seeing everyone.

Thank you to J R for the neck gator. It came in handy on the chilly ride.

Redd: Sorry I couldn't catch the bike for you. Their street/driveway has gotten me too. Hope it wasn't too awkward riding home with the foot peg in a different position.
