Your right I am not he. However I have driven out to Bridgeport Texas to look at one very similar. Got to watch it fly and it is cool.
Looks like FAY has turned to the west and will be bringing her winds and rain right into our path. So we have abandon the Blue Ridge for riding for now and will look for better weather. May not get to make this trip. Going to have to play it by ear.

Thanks Don, but it was looking pretty grim yesterday evening while we were looking at the weather. I had really set my heart on going through the Barber Musem but looks like that will be for another trip. We had planned on going up to eat breakfast with the Blue Hanger Group this morning so we were up early and set off to get there by 8am. And am glad we did, that's a great place to meet and visit.
We got there just after eight as you can see by the Spot plot it was only about a 15 min flight. As you can see we weren't the first to arrive
Food was good and plenty of it as pancakes were aplenty
After eating Arlene got to show off her airplane. She was polishing on it like it was a Harley.
The were lots of unique airplane up and down the taxiway one of the most liked by the Motorcycling crowd was this small red home built with all fabric wings and fuselage, powered by a two cycle Rotax 65hp engine.
I set the camera on multi-shot for take off and got these two pics of Rich & his imaginary friend Bill with Ed 29 and others.
On the way back to Burleson I snapped these two shots of TxMotorSpeedway and Downtown FTW.
We have developed and alternate plan to avoid the bad weather to the SE and will hopefully be heading for Springfield Mo this afternoon. Were trying to move our reservation for a rental bike to that location. We''ll see how that goes.

Wow Mikeal! You really got me on this one. 15 minutes. I thought you must really be "flying" on the motorcycle. Then I read this part..........After eating Arlene got to show off her airplane. She was polishing on it like it was a Harley.
I guess I misunderstood the mode of transportation for this getaway. Good luck with the "new" rental location.

Susan and I talked quite a bit with Dail at the BB for ice cream last night - he has quite a few interesting stories.
He will tell you that he doesn't miss flying
but you can still see the props turning in his eyes when he says that (with a sigh)...

AWESOME pics! I saw her polishing the plane, and you taking pics. My best count was about thirty Bikes this week, though they were coming and going.

You made it to Springfield before I got back from my ride with Bill.
We got home about 5:45 after a great 337 mile loop. Our loop ride would have been a lot faster had it not been for pancakes for breakfest at the Blue Hanger and Chicken Fried Steak with our names on them at Mary's in Strawn. No wonder why I have such a BFG!

Well we finally made the decision to really leave on the trip. Left the house about 1pm and headed north for some of the flying part. This is an island chain in the middle of Lake Texoma. Note the boats barged together.
Shortly after we crossed the Oklahoma border we ran into some stormy wheather that Arlene had to thread through. This is a pic of the radar screen.
As we crossed the Arkansas River we saw this barge headed north.
This was a beautiful lake called Beaver Lake. It had hundreds of fjords to explore and made you wish you had a jet ski to look at them all.
We had to stop in Fayettville to off load some tea left over from lunch. Made it to Springfield about 5:30pm. The line boy the airport was a rider and gave us maps and marked his favorite roads for us. We pick up the bike tomorrow and will finally get to do some riding.
Supper was done at a local brewery. The Lager was pretty good.
Weather is reported to be good tomorrow with only a 30% chance of showers
I hope the Bike is RED I feel like red.

The rain caused some steam to come off the pavement after each little shower and the turns and up and downs just wouldn't stop. It was really hard to make any time on these wet and twisty roads.

We ended this day a Jasper and stayed at a B&B called the Arkansas House. If you look you will see the state of Arkansas in the stone work at the top of the building. The flowere are called Moon Flowere and don't open until the moon comes out.
Newton county is home to the southern most herd of Elk in the US. The owner of the B&B told us of some roads that go past where you can often see the Elk so tomorrow were headed that way. However for supper that night I settled for a Elk Burger.

We continued on 16 East toward Mt. View and along the was stoped to visit with Walley at his Ventage Car Restoration Shop. He was about to start on a 49 Plymouth. My first car. He was in progress on several but my fovorite was this old International Truck I believe it was a 1927
After Mt View we started south again this time on Hwy 9 and ended up in Petit Jean State Park at the Arkansas River over look. Here we met Gene and Nona locals that road up on their Orange Goldwing. They gave us a good history lesson on the area and what a view you have of the river. Threre are some locks that you can watch barges being raised or lowered as the trverse the river.
There is a road runner in this picture if you can find it. He was chasing grass hoppers.

Mt Magazine is our stop for the night and I new I was going to like someone on the staff when I saw this parked out front.

In tracking mode on SPOT you won't send anything to Jason Jonas site. Jason Jonas site only works when you send a manual OK.
In tracking mode you would have to have a different link posted that goes to the SPOT website. That is the site where it only keeps 24 hours of data at a time.
We will miss you at Rosa's tonight.
