Howdy,
Here are the few shots I got during our recent Burger Bash. Thanks to all that made it out, we enjoyed having you here! Jbay, Stephanie and Matthew were the first to show a little after 11:00am. Then everyone else started rolling in. James Cain showed up with his wife on the bike and they were loaded down with pork chops and homemade deer sausage
Rachel is ready to entertain...
Jbay's dog "Sammy" gets an inspection from Daniel
Janice (James Cain's wife) holding Rachel, and Stephanie (Jbay's wife)
It was a Beemerfest. Daniel had to go out and inspect the hardware
Janice and Rachel again
Steve "Rockmantex" Anderson
James on the left.
Beth and Raul "Houstonredrider" manning the grill
Oh wait... Raul was just pestering the cook
Dave Smith, Matthew, Jbay and Stephanie
Hardy Baker, Raul, Steve, Sandy (Raul's wife) and Larry
So I have been itching to get an 18-200mm Nikon VR zoom lens for my Nikon D40. Raul and Sandy have one on their D90 and Raul let me borrow it. Most of the following shots were made with it. It is great because I don't have to swap lenses. I have an 18-55 and a 55-200, so the one lens replaces both of mine. Best of all, I can get shots of people from far away and they don't realize I am taking their picture
Hardy Baker
James Cain and Steve "Desmo" Tanner
Mike "mikecontex", Dick "BlueDevil" and Cynthia (Mike's wife)
Sammy - Jbay's cool dog
Beth still cranking out the burgers and hot dogs
The deer sausage and some regular sausage
Hardy Again...
Larry
Steve and Sandy
It is close to Daniel's nap time and all the excitement is wearing him out...
Steve relaxes after a good meal
Has to have been a "negligent discharge"... I don't recall taking this one
Phil "Pkiser" and Vernon Friday (my Dad)
Yes I know, my talent for catching people with their eyes closed is astounding
Tom "tjbrandt50"
Steve and Phil testing the fit of the 1200GS
Steve and James
Debbie "Snoopster" McMullen
Raul and Sandy's beautiful twin daughters (whose names I can never remember )
Daniel
Raul testing the seat height on my KLR
(You know you want one! )
As usual, I managed NOT to get pics of everyone There were quite a few other folks in attendance. Most folks took off around 2:30-3:00pm I think. It was such a beautiful day, they decided to get in some more riding. Pkiser hung around a bit to help with putting away tables and stuff. About 15 minutes after everyone had left, a couple shows up with apple pie! Bob and Donna something... We had a nice visit, and the apple pie was great I ate wayyyy too much.
Around 6:00pm, I got ahold of Casey "Gotdurt". He and some other members of the TORCH group were out riding in the Sam Houston National Forest. We loaded up left overs and headed out to their camping spot to see if we could off load some of the food. We brought pork chops, deer sausage, potato salad, chips and apple pie. Once they started heating up the meat, I could not take it and had to have another pork chop Beth and the kids headed back before it got too late. I hung out with the folks around the camp fire and we had a great visit. About 11:00pm, it was time to ride back home through the woods. I forgot my jacket liner and my jacket is mesh. It was damp and cool, which made for a cold ride home.
All in all, a great day. Although, I probably put a few extra pounds on from all the eating...
