I posted up for any EXTREMELY last minute takers for a through the North Texas countryside, and lo and behold, Gilk51 was on the stick. He saw my post and within a couple hours we were on the road!
Chuck met me in Crowley and from there we headed west by southwest towards Granbury. I wanted to see Lipan, as I have a coworker who lives there. Well, here it is in all its' glory. Population 435.
We stopped at the local hot spot for a quick drink and to take in the downtown scenery.
Lipan is clearly the crossroads for every farm truck and tractor in the county.
As we pulled out of town, one of the local hooligans rolled through and tore up the corners. He had mad skills whippin that scoot through the corners.
After clearing out of Lipan, we headed north for Weatherford. I wanted to snap some pics of the courthouse before we lost the light. Weatherford has one of the nicest courthouses in the state.
We made a drunken bee line home via FM 5 and FM 1187, both very nice roads. When we hit 1187 the temp dropped noticably. It was almost chilly the last 20 miles home.
We had a nice ride, even if it was totally spor of the moment. Thanks Chuck!
