Honda SCL500

That's something to look forward to. Looks like the exhaust will be routed under the engine, instead of useung high pipes.
 
Another montage from Young Machine. Several sources online are reporting that Honda will have a CL300 and CL500 - Asia gets a CL250 because they have a Rebel 250. Makes sense as we have the Rebel 300 and 500.

This is exciting news! When I was a kid, my older sister had a boyfriend a few years older than her who had a CL450 - a '69 or '70 model I think - and I used to marvel about how cool it looked. It's engine looked like a British 650, and that coupled with the high, wide bars gave it a look that we called "tough" (as in cool) back in the day. He used to ride it back and forth between Colorado and where he went to college somewhere in the northeast. I just hope they don't give it a milder tune than the CB500 for some dumb reason, and that it comes with twin high pipes on the same side like the original. There are already plenty of small and mid-displacement retro bikes that are underpowered compared to the originals that inspired them.
 
I liked the Triumph scrambler look; but then I rode one in May. These Hondas look nice to me, and well thought out.
 
Nice bike. I qanted to do the same with a rebel 500 when they came out. The seat looked easy, but the weird tire sizes looked to be a challenge, so I never committed to bring one home. If this is in the 6k price range I will put money down on a pre order.
 
Europe does not get the 300. Honda has unveiled a 250 cc for Japan - Japan has a Rebel 250 instead of a Rebel 300. My guess would be we get the 500 and the 300. I think the 300 could be a really fun little bike around town.

Considering the popularity of the Rebel worldwide, there are plenty of aftermarket parts that should fit this bike! The exceptions would be parts that are specific to the changes that make it a scrambler.

Cycle World mentions the introduction of the CL300. Since Honda Japan gets a CL250, the introduction of the CL300 points to Honda selling both the CL500 and the CL300 in the US. I am waiting for the official announcement...
