Let me warn you, my typing sucks with just one hand. So this will be short and to the point...

Went to Ark, rode around for a while, crashed, rode in an ambulance, flew in a copter, and then rode home while pulling the bikes on a trailer. Yep, that sums it up I guess. Wayne can fill in the details of the crash since he was behind me and saw the whole thing.

On with the pics...

Meeting at my place.

Then here's where it went downhill fast...actually I was going uphill, but you get the point.

The important part is that you are still here to tell your tale.

Glad to hear your not any worse for the wear.

You need to slow your breathing down. Your panting like a dog. Didn't they give you something for pain?

And they took you in a flying beer can (Bell Long Ranger)? :eek2:

Get better soon and get back to riding!

I did the old broken collar bone thing last June. Didn't hurt that bad except in the morning. I flop around in my sleep. I found the sling that straps around your waist works WAY better than the one that hangs down. It does a lot better job of keeping your shoulder immobile.

Well, at least things STARTED OK:

I looked at the picture with the warning. :eek2: Ouch!

Glad you are home. Recover quickly and supply all the details before the story gets out-of-hand... ;-)

This Trooper looks like he's about to put you down.

So what's the verdict? Surgical repair?

 Prayers sent for a speedy recovery. Nice shots from the helo! I know that shoulder's gotta hurt, but I'll bet the rest of your body is screaming at you, too. They gave you some good meds I hope. :trust:

txmedic this is Melanie, bill's wife. He wanted me to type this for him.
For pain on the helicopter ride they gave him Morphine. As for how to repair it they said it was too soon to tell, he had to go back to another doctor on Wednesday or Thursday, once the swelling goes down. And then they will be able to tell if it will heal on it own or if he will need surgery to fix it.

He want to say thank you for all the well wishes.

Ouch. Not to lessen your pain, but when I saw "bone not where its supposed to be", I was thinking compound fracture. Still looks painful. Good luck on your recovery.

Well well, nothing like Biwwy crashing to drag the non-posters out of the wood work :lol2:

Welcome Melanie

Ouch! That's a terrible way to spend a weekend. I hope you get better soon.

oh man, broken collarbones...don't want another one of those...Start talking to your wife VERY nicely now. She'll be dressing/bathing you for weeks to come. Esp. if you managed to booger your shoulder too..

Squeaky texted Snoopster Sat night and told us you had went down, we were both hopeing it wasn't bad. I couldn't bring myself to look at the picture with the warning. I'm glad your OK (relativly speaking) and hope that you have a speedy recovery.

OUCH!! yes yes. More pain meds please. Glad that nothing worse happened, just remember to take it easy, especially if it is your shoulder too, and let it heal some instead of getting all gung ho... or whatever the saying is. Heel fast!

Dang Bill. Really sorry to hear that you laid it down. Glad that you are still here to tell the story though. Here's to hoping you get the good meds!:rider:

Ouch!!!! I'm sorry to hear about your accident!!! I'm happy you're here to tell the story. Get well soon and let us know if you need something!

I hope things are well. Broke my left colar bone September 11, 2006 and they decided it would heal on its own.

Serious pain only for about a week or so, then a few weeks of discomfort and then little or no pain at all but the bone never healed.

Waited for 4 months but the ends just never seemed to get close enough to find each other.

Finally in January the Dr. and I decided it was never going to heal and surgery was necessary.

Put a plate in January 26. Picked up my new bike March 27th, 6 and a half months after the accident but only 2 months after the surgery.

Bill, I am in Houston, but if there is anything I can do let me know.

I have one of those wrap around the waist slings and I agree it works way better than the kind that just hang around your neck.

Insurance paid for mine and should pay for one for you but if it does not or you just need a spare let me know and I will run mine thru the washer and box it up and send it to you.

Just let me know.

You just HAD to be the center of attention, didn't you? :-P

Hope you heal quick and get back to riding :rider:
