This is not your everyday bike for sale. This one has been prepped for the new riders out there or someone who isn't interested in having a garage queen. Worried about dropping your bike? Worried about taking it on trails and scratching it up? No worries, that has already been taken care of.

We bought the bike (via this forum) in great shape just a few month ago. Unfortunately, on Nov 23rd my wife went wide in a turn and was doing fine riding the dirt parallel to the road until she hit a large rut that bucked the bike sideways. When the rear wheel came back down in caught in the soft dirt, resulting in her highsiding with some severe injuries. Her doctor is advising against riding the rest of the year, and she still isn't sure if she will ride again, so I have made the functional repairs to the bike and posting it up.

The good:
Only 7981 miles.
Previous owner installed a Custom Ohlins rear shock and had front fork work done to lower the bike. After we got it, we had a suspension tech raise it back up about an inch by adding some preload and raising the forks in the triple.
Bike runs/rides great
Handlebars, Starter cluster, right mirror, shifter foot lever/rubber pad, and windshield wellnuts have all been replaced with OEM parts
Come with a taller touring windscreen and a second custom seat
Fresh brake fluid change front and rear.

The bad:
The top case was destroyed and not replaced, but the mounting plate (and mounting bolts) is still there
The right case took the brunt of the impact, bending one of the support bars (creating the angled stance of the case, see pic from rear) and denting the front left corner of the case
The left case has a small dent, maybe from impacting a large rock
The right front fairing is cracked where the windscreen mounts and has a few small scratches.
Right hand guard has scratches in the plastic
Crash bars have some surface abrasions.
Seat has a small nick in the left side.
Front hand brake lever has some rash.
Will need new tires soon

The summary:
All of the items listed in 'The bad' do not affect the function of the bike at all. The cases, although dented, are still functional and weatherproof. The retail for this bike in good condition is $7-8k. For the price I am asking, you could buy all new cases and replace every scratched part and still be under that price.

Sorry to hear about the better halves injuries. Hope she heals up quick and continues to ride. Far too few ladies in this sport.

This is a STEAL for this bike folks.:rider: They get great fuel economy and they have a lower seat height for height challenged rides like me. If I did not have one already I would jump on this one.:deal:

Clean Texas title or salvage title from insurance?

So sorry about the crash, I bet that scared her to death...

Can you clarify about the height of the bike? It was lowered, then you raised it -- what was the net effect? Is it factory seat height now or still a little lower?

Any idea what weight the suspension is set up for?

Also what is the custom seat?

I just got back from Patagonia where a buddy and I rented one of these and a f800gs. It's a fine bike that handles gravel decently, and two up (with our wives), and was able to maintain a decent clip on the road.

Clean Title, in hand.

My wife is 5'-2". It was lowered by a professional suspension tech that included internal fork work, dropping the tubes in the triples, and replacing the shock with a custom built Ohlins. The bike was too low for my wife (longer legs than the PO's wife), so we had the suspension modified for her height. For the rear, the suspension tech we took it to said it had zero preload on it, so he added just enough to get it to the correct height for her, and then raised the front forks in the triples to bring the geometry back in line.

Both seats are made for reduced height. The bike had the Touratech on when we bought it, but my wife preferred the one currently on there. I have included a pic of the small nick in the seat.

Looks like the perfect replacement for Grandma's K75! Now all I have to do is convince her it needs replacing!

16 years younger and nearly 100 lbs lighter … seems logical to me!

Darn it Darn it Darn it. That is a good deal. I see nothing that could not be easily fixed there. Good luck! I think it will sell fast. Hope your wife heals fully.
