I don't know why they still kept that beak on there.
I'm worried about the price, it's going to be more than the 650 version and that's already $11,500 for the Adventure model.

I might could be convinced to trade in my Tiger on this actually... I know I said I wouldn't, but this is promising.

Isn't there an old addage......If it ain't broke don't fix it?

Makes zero sense to us to make that sort of change. The V-twin is a rock of an engine.

Let's hope it doesn't sound and ride like the tractor like the Triumph engines I've endured test riding.

Spoked wheels look to be the tube type. I’d consider it if it was tubless and if it does not require anything greater than 87 octane

Is this middle weight 507 pounds with fuel or without ? Too chunky for me.

Yes....those are the specs for the 2014 V Strom 1000.... Go Bigger...GO FIGGER

At least the 800 doesnt have a windshield adjuster lever ON THE FRONT OF SHIELD...like the 2020 & up 1050

I think it's actually pretty well suited to compete with the new Honda TA. The Suzuki might actually be better off-road than the new TA. If it wasn't so ugly, I would definitely be interested.

I dont kno what it is with these newer V Stroms....
My 1st 1000...an 02 weighed appx 525-530 lbs according to the magazines back then. In 2014 Suzuki crowed about the weight loss program they put the new 1000 on....503 lbs....lighter frame & other various bits.
In 2018...the bike had gained a few lbs back...511 lbs w diff ABS system mostly.

2020 redesign & 1050 designation brought out the buffet....520 lbs with basically the same parts used as the 2014....wheels frame luggage rack ..etc
Did cruise add that much weight? Nope not std on base model...what about the 6 axis IMU & ABS...nope...base model had simple 2014 style ABS

& the 2020 1050XT with all the elect goodies...& dessert! 544 lbs!

2023 1050 with a second helping...cruise 6axis ABS ..534lbs. Still mostly the same underneath as the 2014....frame wheels etc

The 1050DE is 554 lbs...longer travel susp 21" front..etc

Now it looks like the 800 is following the buffet line

EDIT: the 650 Strom put on a bit from 2004 to 2011 ...475 to 485 lbs w/ABS
2012 redesign dropped back to 471 & 2017 dropped a bit more to 467 lbs

Thats how a diet works

Has anyone seen any service interval data? This would be interesting if it was a 6,000+ oil change and 18,000+ valve check bike.

Shouldn’t it be the P-strom now?
PT-Strom would be better, for more reason than one. First, who wants to say they ride a Pee-Strom? Also, technically, lots of other engine configs are "parallel", but only the 2cyl variant is called Parallel Twin. Nobody says parallel triple or parallel 4, or parallel 6, even though they fit the description just as well.
