I'd be curious about how many have ABS on their Bandit. I count, out of the 94, 32 who listed theirs as ABS About a third, which is good anecdotal data. I was specifically looking for an ABS model when I bought mine.
 
94 Bikes:

41 in Black
24 in RED
14 in Blue
14 in Silver/Gray
1 Cherry Red (which is an European Naked Factory Bike GSF1250)


amuse me here....

If we lined up all 94 bikes, surely a black one would win being almost 50% of the field.....and following this logic, Black is the fastest.....:rider:

It's not......but there's very little chance of the get together being rained out if you had it in the Summer in California as we rarely get rain then, and the roads are fantastic!
I myself would hate to take time off work to travel to say Colorado (more centralized) only to have the rides ruined by rain.

I was only (half) kidding about a Bandit Rally. Regional meets might be an idea. CA/NV/AZ, TX/OK/LA/AR, NC/SC/VA, etc.

I searched the web and found a site called "Bandit Alley" (I like that, kinda like MIG Alley). They have merchandise for previous rallies (t-shirts, patches) beginning in 2002. The latest year was 2005 (?)

A regional is a lot easier to manage, would probably attract a good number of Bandit owners, and every region is likely to offer some good riding.

In my easy riding schedule as of late, it would take me 4 to 5 days to get to California. I remember my younger, dummer days when I would do it in 2. ;-). I just don't have 1000 mile days in my body or mind anymore. :yawn:

I hear you........it would be a long way to go for peeps from the Middle of the Country or farther East................then again with home prices in the toilet here is Southern California you coould MOVE here and enjoy the roads pretty much year round.
You can find MANY a 2 or 3 bedroom home here in Southern Cal for 150K or LESS now!!! I'm not kidding!!

Yes I am in the Air Force, have been doing it for the past 20 years now. No complaints other then miss being home with the family. Would have to say there are more benefits to the career than there are drawbacks.
 
A quick heads-up for anyone looking for tires-- Motorcycle Superstore has Dunlop Roadsmarts on sale. Price for a new rear 180-55-17 is $133.99. Since we wear out rear tires twice as fast as front ones has anyone tried mixing a Roadsmart rear with a stock Dunlop front? Inquiring minds want to know. TIA,

Yes, I am stationed at DMAFB, just waiting to get back there. Looking forward to riding some of the mountain roads around Tucson. Have to ride a bit of the straight boring roads to get there, but all should be good.
