Hello all, I'm not a Texan, but I do come from the biggest state in Oz, West Australia, although, I no longer live there, I now live in Adelaide South Australia.
I'm an ex serviceman, I served a life sentence (25 years) in the RAAF as a police dog handler/trainer/instructor. My first 8-9 years in the workforce I worked as a welder/fabricator, then moved on to various jobs: bricklayer, pipelayer, truck driver, timberman and salesman at which I truly sucked. Despite quitting the welding trade after my five years I retained it as a hobby and I build all manner of things: recumbent bikes and trikes, machinery, tools, knives, furniture, but my true love is building bikes.
I'm 72, but I've been retired for 23 years, working out of my workshop. I do everything in my workshop: welding, machining, fabricating, painting, metal polishing, mechanical, electrical, anodising, wheel building, et al.
I do work slow though, I have reumatoid disease and have had multiple joint fusions and replacements: fingers toes, hips and so on. As well as that I was diagnosed with lung cancer five years ago and I've undergone many treatment plans all to no avail. But Doc says I should get another few years yet, so that'll take me through to around 75, not a bad innings.
This is my latest project which I've just finished, a 74 TX650 custom. It's taken three years to get to this stage, I can't ride anymore, due to the reumatoid, so, it'll just sit in my garage.
