Updated 7/25/2018: I have been asked if there has been a go-fund-me type site set up for JT. I'm sure his medical insurance isn't going to cover all the costs for his lifeflight ride, surgeries, and the upcoming physical therapy he is going to need. Instead of using go fund me (due to the fee they charge), we are using paypal instead. If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can donate on paypal to jthomp1@gmail.com. Use the "sending to a friend" choice and paypal won't charge a fee. Any and all donations will be very appreciated.
Friends,
JT (John Thompson) had a bad motorcycle accident on Saturday that resulted in a fractured vertebrae and a crushed left foot. He was taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center and has been there since.
The doctors operated on his back yesterday and were very pleased with how the surgery went. They suggest a full recovery for the spine.
The left foot, on the other hand, is proving to be a bit more of a problem. Doctors have operated on it twice (once on Sunday and once again today). At this point it's not clear exactly what the prognosis is for the foot. Time and prayers will tell.
JT will likely be in the hospital for at least another week, depending on when another operation on the foot will be necessary.
I visited with JT this evening and he is in good spirits despite dealing with a bit of pain and being trapped in a hospital bed for at least another week.
Your prayers would be appreciated.
