Howdy Leeroy,
I have not changed out my sprocket for a smaller one. However, many of the VFR owners on the VFR mailing list have done so and are quite happy with it. It is an inexpensive way to get a little more grunt. You will sacrifice a little bit on MPG, but from what I am told, it is very little as in maybe 1-2 mpg.
