Recommendation against buying a Tiger:
I have a red 2020 Tiger 900 GT that I got in Feb of 2021 that was new in the box (odometer read "2" when I took it off the lot) I put 27,000+ miles on it and wrecked it twice (first wreck tailed ended while stopped at a stop light and second wreck new TKC front tire came off at 70mph on smooth flat pavement.)
- The speedometer does not/never has worked. More than 20% off at 70mph. Triumph is aware and has no plans to fix.
- The seat has a significant design flaw and can fail and come off while riding. Can be replaced under warranty if you don't die when it comes apart.
- The Bosch IMU and smart ABS did not work for the first 8,000 miles / 10 months and had to be rebuilt under warranty. Triumph dealers and Triumph USA were not helpful. I had a terrible time getting them not wanting to fix this issue on a new bike.
- Globally, there are no spare parts for Triumphs. I don't mean just in the USA. If you need something it takes 12 weeks while they make a new part in Thailand.
- Cost of minor repairs and maintenance is astronomical.
If you make the mistake of buying a Tiger 900, be sure to get the quick shifter. The gears are very close together and under normal riding you will shift up to 6th gear by 50mph. It is a lot of shifting, but it is fun with the quick shifter.
In summary, the 900 Tiger has more than it's fair share of issues that can kill you, the dealers are bad, but it is fun to ride!
Edit: Mine is not for sale, plan to ride until something breaks that kills me.
