Post your Day Rides Here!

Morning Folks,
Made 500 miles yesterday and two RTE's, the usual Thursday meetup at Billy's in Austin and a 5:30 supper at Bob's BBQ in Henderson. Good BBQ! Got home at 11:15 last night, and was somewhat overwhelmed by the amount of oilfield truck and related traffic between Thorndale and Henderson.....
pic1- at Billy's next to Lee's pretty Honda
pic2- at Bob's in the rain next to a pretty Beemer
pic3- somewhere near Jacksonville on a red dirt road....my favorite kind!

That's a sweet looking watercrossing there barron, would love to find it. Was that red dirt road wet Mark? Looks muddy. I've been all around Adamsville Cleatus, that game ranch is something to see, huh!

Happy Father's day to you and every other Dad on this forum as well!

Will,
The road looked wetter than it was......
I hope for as many days as possible chasing roads like this......

I’m still trying to bond with my bike and I just dropped the gearing down some, along with some modifications to the fueling, so I wanted to get out and put in some miles this morning before it got too hot.

Since we don’t have any mountains in SE Tx., most of the water crossings close by are way too deep, and the national forest single track is still closed; I’m pretty much stuck just exploring the dirt roads to see where they end. There are plenty of those roads between Montgomery and Richards, so that’s where I headed. With the shade provided by the pines and the constant air movement, the temperature is really very pleasant.

Anyway, I brought my camera and snapped a few shots.

Mudclod, the mini-water crossing is here: http://goo.gl/maps/le7v

Today I went for a Father's Day ride up from my home in Cedar Park thru Andice and Florence, then wandered across to Salado. Went thru a nice little rain shower which cleaned my little GS... the only acceptable kind of wash for a GS in my opinion. :)

After spending some time in Salado, I went east and south on some gravel, found myself in Bartlett, then swung by the Granger Lake dam. Back to 29 west thru Georgetown and back home. A nice 166 miler today!

Roger, pretty sure the fork takes you to Outlaw! Remember, you've been there! lol

It's been a while since I rode Outlaw, but I knew it was in the area. Does it end at Outlaw or does the road continue on past?

Great images Roger! The heat's driving me closer to East Tex every weekend. Shade and water, man.

My last little Sunday ride took me from Granbury up fm4 to Patillo and picked up 141 to 139 plus several other gravel over to I20 below Gordon and ran the access to Thurber. From there took 107 to 109 to Hannibal then back to pavement with 1188 to Morgan Mill and 156 to Bluff Dale. From there 172/2026 and Bakers Crossing to Paluxy and 51 back home. Just a 140 something miles but the shaded roads along the way sure help this time of year.

Darned nice day for a ride.

Little bit of carnage on the hill climb. Really tough to thread the needle between the two large rocks above him when you're in full flail mode.

I'm 0 - 5 on this thing now. You can see Paul down there for scale.

Ran a bunch of singletrack out of town then got up into the pics you see above. We made it up into the snow where a handful of jeeps and Rovers were trying their luck, and then bombed back down into the singletrack for the ride home.

A little bit more carnage before it was all over...

And then off to 10 Barrel for Apres Ride beer and family! :eat::thumb:

Followed by an Apres Apres Ride power nap followed by a free concert in the park. Bend is a busy place in the summer...

Found a really cool old well pump last weekend but that's another story ;-)

Epic dirt this weekend, massive rain storm Saturday morning and we took off an hour after the last drop. Pics aren't uploaded yet but I have a vid...

Tried a hill that's been kicking my butt and made it much further past my personal best.... and still way short of the top.

Is the hill named "widowmaker" or some such? Gotta have a nickname? ;-)

We went "dualsporting" on our cruiser down Acker rd. just north of San Antonio. We ended up hand escorting the Roadstar over the slick crossing but one part proved to be about 8 inches deep. Im amazed at the volume of water still flowing in these hills considering a month or so now of drought...
