Father’s day ride on the Katoom….after an oil change. Did the ton on 49, not much effort there. The low fuel light works, filled up in Gravette….thinking this is not the last time I‘ll feed this hogger. 😂 It is a very stable bike, but the handling is noticeably heavier than the KLR, turn in not as crisp, etc. The steering head stops are WAY out, can barely turn around in a lane and a half. Forgot to screw the mirrors back on..🤷🏻‍♂️. Putting some heat to a nice sirloin toot sweet. Happy days, y’all.

Whats The hp on that rascal? Good job Mark.

Son texted Saturday evening and wanted to know if I would be interested in riding early Sunday morning before church and the before it got to hot. Of course! He showed up a bit before 6 and we chased the dust for a while. He gets to practice and I get to ride a bit. He is way faster so I am the passing practice I think. Here is a grab from his GoPro where he is sizing up his victim, me. :rider:

Old and slow but still fun!

Here are my first efforts with the Insta360 X3. Already I can see things I want to do differently, especially with regard to sound. The editing is a bit odd, but I just need to get used to it.

I need to get better at "keyframing" which is setting the transitions from one perspective to another during the video. I also want to find better mount locations, but they are far and few between on the 530! The GS will be better because it has all kinds of places to attach stuff.

Breakfast ride to Kosse didn’t get but a couple photos Had four show up it’s getting hot.

I would have to work on my leg strength. Mark remember my SR500? Even with the compression release :thumb: Hardest starting bike I ever had and I miss it. Only way it would start, I had to cuss it.

Well, I got a 50 mile ride in today since my temperature tolerance limit is 90 degrees now. I don't frequent as nice breakfast restaurants as ya'll do but I do like a little sample from this fine centex cultural landmark deli... Found a buck tangled in a barbwire fence coming home and stopped to extract him, but he escaped just as I approached and was badly hurt and dragging one leg. Windmill says the deer would have killed me if I'd tried to untangle him. He's probably right.

I'd probably been dumb enough to try, duh.

I know those front hooves on a doe can hurt you. Then most times they will have a broken leg if they get out so they are dead dear limping. If it was on my place I would dispatch it then get iy out. Feed the coyotes. It is a sad deal.
Ed everrt time I go throgh Buckholts I try to eat at that store. Good food then ride to Davila and eat on the bench at the stop sign SW corner.

Had a friend's son kicked to death by a deer that came through the windshield and the buck got stuck in the windshield but was still alive. Brutal.

I met the lady (Alice) who owns the old building with the huge mimosa tree on the corner in Davila a while back. She invited me back for an interior tour the next day. Its quite the fixer upper. Sure seemed like it was likely a cool community gathering spot in its day.

Some of us would give a left testicle to be a Touron on a Tuareg right now at that site

Got the first 100 miles in today on the new to me KTM from Scott @Tourmeister. Did about 60/40 dirt and backroad pavement. Finally started to jive with the bike a bit after the first 50 miles. It’s definitely a lot different animal then the ole klr however I do still love the klr in it’s own respect and don’t think I’ll be parting ways with it completely for the orange. It was noticeably cooler today compared to what it has been with a little cloud cover and scattered showers, so I just had to get in a ride. Of course while I was out I made my way down to the lake to snap a quick pic.
