M38... did the artistic work of dodging out the 'new' and adding sepia toning to really do the job. I love that picture. I was sitting on a bench under cover as the downpour started. It was fresh and cold and loud. People were running everywhere to get out of the rain. I just got lucky with the outcome.
I have been very busy with family things here in Buena Vista. Hope to be past that soon, but I may not be. I am writing to update the 'dates'.
Joe, my brother, the I-net guy in BV is date number 23.
Jenny, my niece, and her SO, Jord, are dates 24 and 25. Halfway! Jenny is due the 9th. Jord works with streams and rivers watching over many environmental issues with high tech equipment he is designing. He wants people to know that it takes more water to produce a plastic throw away bottle for bottled water than the water it holds. Jord goes to work on a snow mobile much of the year.
And then I had a very short date with these fellows when I went up to them to tell them that I am a bad-posterior biker like them. They didn't believe me when I told them I had ridden 6000 miles to get there. So they invited me to Sturgis and promised no one would throw the scooter in the dumpster. They are BIG guys! Dates 26, 27, and 28.
We all went to "Gentleman's Night" at the Gladstone Mine and had Crab Pizza and Banana Bread for dinner as we sat under huge tarps protecting us from a mountain thunderstorm.
They added a hose filled with copper to the fire. Probably toxic, but very pretty.
Tonight is the big closing party at Gladstone and there will be a couple hundred people there...some have been staying summers there since the 60's.
I haven't made it to the West Fest site, but I have waved at dozens of dirt bikers all over town.
