Arkansas: Squeaky's POV

To be honest, I don't like trailers myself, and I own one. Getting to and from is part of the adventure.

I don't know of too many places that you can't rent a U-Haul if someone has a problem. In fact, Denton Don had no problem renting one when he had his wreck in Arkansas and he drove himself home with some messed up ribs.

Plus, people could slow down a little so that the wrecks don't happen in the first place:mrgreen:

"It's the ride, not the destination."

And there are far too many fun roads between here and AR to waste two riding days in my truck. Oh, and while I'm certainly made of sugar... I don't melt. :rider:

Sport-touring to far off destinations (and I'm not entirely decided if AR counts  ) is all about having a plan. When I ride, I know that I'm covered with a roadside assistance plan that can tow my bike to the nearest motorcycle dealership (or other safe place to store it) and good insurance that will ship it home (and fly me!) if necessary. Insurance can also cover a u-haul if I'm too far from home to have my truck driven out by a close friend or family member (who already have a spare set of keys on hand for situations like this).

Becca, great trip report. I'm enjoying it greatly, but Biwy's attitude following his accident is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

"But in my world being self-sufficient is number one priority for me, and the fact is roadside assistance is NOT a guarantee."

Takes talent to speak out of both sides of your mouth at the same time!!
I guess that comes from 20k a year of being self reliant.

trying to get back on track - I have a question, Squeak, what is the story behind this picture?

Is that the missing mirror? :ponder:

No, it's a few mis-matched mirrors that David (Cagiva549) had for me to pick through so that I'd have two mirrors to go on the trip. He wasn't going to be on this side of town when I came by, so he left them by his gate.
