Boy have I done it again.

The new one should be a fun project
The guy from whom I purchased the James from lives down by Austin. I have tried to contact him with no luck. He has or had a lot of James parts and I would like to purchase what I don't have but haven't had any luck in getting in touch with him.

Well I have started working on the James. Mostly getting information such as parts and shop books. Should have that late next week.
Ordered engine manuals from Villers Supply in the UK and a DVD that is "supposed" to have all sorts of info on all thing James. Did find the vin number for the James buried under the paint, good thing I plan on re-painting it the correct color.
Finishing up with the wiring on the 53 C11 BSA.

What's his name? Maybe I can locate him; I'm in NW Austin area (Leander)

If you can that would be great.
James Lovejoy out of Dripping Springs.
Like I said, I don't want anything for free and I'm willing to purchase what I need if he has it.

I'll look/ask around...
Any luck?
Got the parts and shop books for the James ML125 and the Villers 9D 125 engine. Making a list of items I think I will need.
Engine parts don't seem to be an issue but the James parts are a whole different story. In the process of making a replacement rear axle.

Does this shop have parts for this old bike?
I called them. All he had was the rear section of the frame. Did make a new rear axle for the old girl.
This one is going to take some time.

Well progress is being made. I am making studs to replace the bolts that had been put into the engine, they were American not British. 1/4-24 instead of 1/4-26 tpi.
I took the lighting and ignition coils over to Pea Paws to have Doug check the resistance on them. Surprisingly the lighting coils were good but the ignition one was bad,
The ignition coil is still available but not the lighting coils. Like I said, progress is being made.

Well truth be known I don't plan on taking it out at night or for that matter on to any roads. The way people drive I would be taking my life in my hands just to venture out on a local road with a bike that is supposed to do 30mph. The plan is to go to shows and swap meets with something most people have never seen. Gives people a perspective of how far we have come and where our roots are in the motorcycle world.

A short video of what my little James.

Back from Davenport and the Chief Blackhawk motorcycle show and swap meet. Did a trade of my 63 Mobylette moped for a 46 James ML125. During WW2 these were used a parachute bike for use by British paratroopers. Pretty complete and I can use the 47 James for parts. The adventure continues.

Well things are going slowly on the James project, but being as old as it is I am surprised that I'm making any progress at all.
I got the 46 into my name, which is a plus. I sold the Mobylette at Davenport and returned the other one to its owner in NM.
While in NM my friend asked me to help him get his 56 Norton Dominator back together and up and running. With no two parts being together (just kidding but no by much) this will be a bit of a project to work on side by side with the James.

Well, I have removed the engine from the 46 James. To say that most of it is rubbish is an understatement. I will use the 47 as a doner bike for the 46 instead of the other way around. Next step on this project is to finish stripping the frame and have it sand blasted, and powder coated.
The 56 Norton in slowly coming together, just waiting on some parts from the owner. Working on truing the front wheel and then baby gets new shoes. Never a dull moment here at the ranch that's for sure.

Is James about 88 years old? I found a few references in Dripping Springs that's either him or possibly his son.

Youtube channel with a 32 Ford "Tweety" is here. Is this him?

And here are some more possible contacts.
