There are probably several threads in OT I would participate in, BBQ, cooking, etc. Don't really know since I haven't been in OT since y'all ran Jared off (or he left, tomato, tomatO. He and others are gone, so the result is the same), and I have no inclination to return to it.
Seems it would be helpful to sort the politics out into it's own section, but I readily admit that's not my decision to make.

As to ignoring politics in life, we'll have to disagree on that one WW.

No thanks. I have the entire OT forum back on ignore now. I came off ignore to follow a couple medical procedure threads and then slowly got sucked in further and further. Came to my senses and dropped all of OT again.

I don't get why you and SilverBullet avoid OT all together if you want to participate in non-political threads of OT. I just kinda remember Jared so I really can't say why he left. Heck I just saw a post from Cheez not too long ago in the cycle section. I still think there are a lot of folks here that just want to post their opinion on something (political or not) and then get upset when someone questions them about it. I thought the purpose of a forum was to discuss stuff where folks have different experiences, viewpoints, and perspectives.

SilverBullet says I am argumentative and I would say I like to debate topics, Christianity, politics, policing, guns, and cycles are what I like to debate. I think this thread is a great indicator of how fractured we are in America. You got one side with an agenda that is being pushed and then when they get push back, they get offended. I guess that happens when so many see truth as relative or they post a opinion on something they have no experience in?

Whew I didn't know there were so many avoiding OT. I really don't care that you visit that thread but in it I explained how I now identify here on the forum. Heck, even some moderators commented. C'mon, we are like family here..........in that many won't get along with one another. Bring it in for a virtual hug.

What a coincidence though that two members here created new profile names at almost the same time??? Some coincidences aren't.....
I am as good looking as my profile name.
 
Many of those OT conversations move to a tone of complete disrespect. No need for that kind of thing in my life. Also, there are those who decide that no matter what the topic is, they feel the need to inject their political posture into it.

Example:
Me: Should I use 10W40 or 5W40 in the summer?
Them: Trump sucks!

Sadly, we have to avoid all of OT to avoid these kinds of conversations.

Seems I've no longer the ability to delete a thread I started, because I would have deleted the Israel cesspool thread weeks ago. Sick of it all.

I like to click on "New Posts" and peruse all the threads. If OT is not on ignore those posts will show up there. Titles don't always tell you exactly what the thread is about. So you click, read and then get sucked into it.

Agree to disagree on argue vs debate, agenda, offended and no experience. Past history says you will not accept "agree to disagree" and continue posting trying to argue a point that debate has already been closed on.

And now this thread has got hijacked and belongs in

Asked Scott about that, been turned off for a long time. They want ability to go back to a thread if needed.
 
@ElGuapo , since you quoted me, I feel I owe you a reply.

My daddy taught me not to talk politics or religion at the dinner table. Given events in the last few years, I've decided to make that a general rule of life. I'm not perfect, I break my own rules sometimes, but I try to do it in person and not on the internet.
I come to sites like this to learn about bikes and some of the people that ride them. I don't care how they vote, it's none of my business. Just like how I vote shouldn't matter.

As to Jared, I can't speak for him. He was a new rider that bought more bikes in a summer than I have ever. Took to riding like nobody ever. Some of his views didn't match the views of the collective. You can only get piled on so many times..... He chose to leave, I chose to ignore off topic.

Has it really got hi-jacked? I thought we were talking about Cabanza and then WoodGuy brought me up and then you got in on it. See, this is what I was talking about. You were the one who posted the first shot over the bow and now simply because I respond, it gets "hi-jacked" and should be moved? C'mon, bring it in for another virtual hug (just don't cop a feel this time).

I'm just killing time here as I watch 90D Fiance' The Other Way. Some of you'll are liked coil springs.

It's not hijacked at all, its gone right where it was going to go from the start. And based on the original post it probably should have been started in OT from the get go.

First shot? By making a joke without even naming anyone? Was just speculation then but now we know the truth as a hit dog always hollers. Then you returned posting about religion, politics, agenda, etc. Cabanza only changed his user name and explained why. You were still in the closet at that time as you created a new profile and even made a new introduction thread without ever mentioning you were already a member here under another name.

The fact you accuse me of firing the first shot is more proof you just like to argue.
 
Wait, ElGuapo is Snarky? I've been bamboozled. I have four on ignore, he can claim the high honor of being my first ignore. Probably gonna be the fifth too.
