Coughs, Coconuts and Coffee in Huatusco, Veracruz, Mexico

I was thrilled when a lady granted me permission to enter a "Jacal" it wasn't hers the man who lived there had gone to do some errands She was selling candy in the porch I felt humble when I saw an altar on his leaving room

Great ride report and videos especially the trailer.

I agree, it's amazing how much of Mexico is within a day or two's ride from the border.

Huatusco's official name is Huatusco de Chicuellar. Manolo says it was kind of a joke. The Chicuellars were a local campesino family. It pokes fun at all the towns and cities with the lofty names.

LaserDave,

Glad you enjoy the report. Personally, I think Meelton's latest Mexico foray is ridiculously entertaining. They've got it buried in the dirty section; http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80719. My editing is sketchy on this tablet, sorry.

Bato,

When did you visit the jacal? Was it while I was trying to sort out the fuel line?

You're killing me with that trailer. Everyone wants to see the rest of the movie. Bernadette has her work cut out for her.

Dont forget the topless Bato part outside of Jalcomulco!
That quiet little town will never be the same! LOL

It sure makes me want to head South... :zen:

Ok, now we have pictures of Bato without his pants AND without his shirt. I can see why he got lead billing in the movie. No one I know would be interested in seeing the Western White Manatee.

And I fixed up the Totutla/Tecolutla mixup. Thanks for the heads-up.

Trevor is an Australian who's been living in the US and decided he needed to take an extended vacation and ride his Super Tenere down to Ushaia, at the southermost tip of South America. He said he planned to take a year off, but after 3 months on the road, he was still in Mexico, so he wasn't sure how long he would take before reaching Ushaia.

If you're interested in keeping up with Trevor's Trans-America Tenere trip, he's posting on the SuperTenere forum, Escape from DC: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=5583.0

And, finally, here's a couple videos Bato has posted on Vimeo, but not here (shame on you, Bato):

This is just past Totutla in a road construction zone:
