Itchy Boots - Kalahari to S America to Alaska to Africa to Asia

I think the trapped comment was referring to improvised toll roads. It looked like the guy dropped the rope when he realized she wasn't going to stop.

There's another guy who is riding around the world on a Trail 90. On his trip through South America, can't remember which country, he ran into people obstructing the road and charging tolls to pass.

I do find Itchy Boots' channel much better than The Long Way Up. She visits native people and shows their way of life, without getting preachy about it. She also has the right tool for the job and is making videos about riding a motorcycle, not EV range anxiety.

EV range anxiety. ???
If you haven't seen Long Way Up, that is what it is about. It's no longer about riding motorcycles on adventures with your friends. It's about being preachy about the environment and culture.

They decided to be the first people to ride from the tip of South America to California on electric motorcycles (a custom HD Live Wire/Pan America mash up), with electric trucks (Rivians) as support vehicles. The show quickly became about how are we going to charge our EVs, instead of riding motorcycles.

It was certainly these last motorcycle focused of the series and the charging anxiety definitely ruled the production.

Itchy's last couple of episodes in Guatemala have been beautiful and it's easy to see why she loves it so much. The house she stayed in on the mountaintop with the dirt floors had a tremendous view. Drop me there with a bunch of solar panels and a Starlink setup and I'd be set.

And an electric blanket, based on her experience. :D

She's now in Mexico. Assuming her videos are running 2+ weeks behind reality, and that she's got a ton of riding yet to do in Mexico, she's going to hit the Southwest US right in the heart of our hottest temps. I hope this is something she has taken into consideration. I've ridden in our 115-118 degree temps and it "was not fun". She will be going through that little Camelbak every couple of hours.

She'll complain, much as she did in Africa and Middle East, but she will get through it.

She could load up and head to Alaska for perfect timing and then head back south . Either way even the Rockies will be tough in October. Something has to give on her timing. Even if she went up west coast.
This is just mu opinion and I am sure she has a plan. Maybe if she hit Canada by August she could partially do Alaska.
What do you all think route timing is?

This woman has ridden the entire globe. She has ridden South America at least twice. I don't see any reason she wouldn't have a good plan.

I watched her most recent video today and she was less than 1k miles from Texas. She might be in the States already in real time. Depends on what route she is taking. I hope she visits Big Bend. Seems she would find it interesting being that she has a background in geology. If she rides through the very scenic areas of the US, she might have a much harder time finding places to stay now that it is summer. It's going to be a lot more expensive!

With what she's pulling down from YouTube views, Patrons and sponsors, I don't think expense is an issue any more.

The heat is going to be a challenge. Probably go north quickly

I think she'll be in Mexico for quite a few more episodes even though she's only 1K from the Texas border, although you could be right that she's already in the US.

I've never had much more than a lukewarm interest in off-road riding, but today's episode really made me understand why so many of my Arizona friends love riding dirt down in Mexico.
