Re: Pie Run IX: A Bit West and "Smokin'!" at the Smokestack in Thurber, 9/24
Great day for ride. Left the house at a cool 55° on this second day of fall - it was wonderful considering the heat this summer.
We had a pretty good turn-out (panorama picture - click to enlarge)
Got to see some familiar faces.
and meet some new ones. Welcome TossingLead (Jeff) to his first Pie Run
after lunch - the crowd had grown
a picture of the crowd from the smokestack
Had a great ride home
But it did get a little warm
Stopped for gas at FM1431 and FM734 and met another new TWTx member (and his very cute wife) on a very shiny FJR new to Texas too from NJ. Chatted awhile on where to ride both street and dirt. So welcome ffejtable and Suzy.
I got home around 6pm with a tad over 400 miles and one performance award warning.
