Sometimes I think that I would be better off if I'd replace the badges on my sidecases with some rubber bumpers.

Yeah, they are really wide. The Givi mounts are a couple of inches narrower, but still wide. The bags on my ST1300 are 32 inches wide; the givi bags / mounts are 38, and the bags on the Suzuki mounts are over 40. Probably a good thing lane splitting isn't legal here.
