I'm in and will plan on riding down with the DFW group Fri at 8:00am if that's cool. @Haze Gray Rider, @Jarrett, @2WheelNut, @dualsportrider
Haven't decided 100% if I am going but if I do, I'll ride down after work on Friday as I don't want to take a vacation day to attend.

Weather looking good so probably in but just got back from a week ride in TN and am not totally sure I have a green light to leave again so soon.

Hope to see you there.

Anyone else worried about the size of the event and the current spike in Covid cases?
Yeah, I'm concerned about it. Not the riding part, but all the folks congregating back at the hotel.

I was hoping covid would be going down by now, but seems to be higher than ever.

Let’s see, wife works on emergency care clinics . I work on research facilities with several labs doing Covid research and we never stopped during lock down. Not I am not worried about Covid at the event, but more likely I will avoid crowds and follow protocol like I do at work.

Talked to one of my riding buddies and he's out as well. I went ahead and cancelled my room.

There is a room open at the Best Western right now if anyone wants it.

In past events, all the post-ride hanging out and BS was done in the parking lot or camp sites anyway. As long as you aren't kissing or holding hands, and as long as the hotel remains open, I'd see this weekend as a safe way to relieve some stress. Meals will be the closest contact, so get 'em to go and sit outside...

Yes and no.

I'd probably take precautions and stay away from the big group settings or even stay home if I were high risk.

Since I'm not high risk, and I believe that low risk people getting it and getting over it is our route back to normal, I'm not actually worried enough to not go.

Having said that, I'm really busy at work and don't have time to get sick right now so I might distance myself a bit just to control the timing. I do believe I'll eventually get it but getting sick 5 hrs from home on a motorcycle trip would suck. I'd rather get it when I'm home and less busy.

If I recall, the largest gathering is the brief pre-ride meeting outside. Other than that, its small groups hanging around outside of hotel rooms, rv's and campsites. Should be fine if everyone respects mask wearing and distancing and doesn't show up feeling sick.

You are recalling correctly - the pre-ride brief is the only gathering and that will be outside where we can observe social distancing.

Why not TARA masks to go along with the t-shirts ?

Something like this might work

I am in Houston as well, Clear lake area and am heading out Friday. I was looking for a trailer to take the bike out with. Are you riding out there or pulling and have room for another?
Pulling, an have a spot for another bike. You can also carpool with us if you want.
281-798-9099. So we can share the ride $$

I just received word that my bikes suspension work has been completed and I can pick it up Monday, it only took a month and a half, but what ever. So I just spent the last few hours registering and booking, ordering a few last minute supplies. I'll be there at the Holiday Inn (half the price of the BW). Coming from Magnolia.

I don’t know what Holiday Inn you’re staying at, but the one in Junction is much more expensive than the rate Richard got for us. Maybe if you call the BW directly and say you are with the TARA group they’ll give you the $84/night rate.

Hope all have a great time. Great area!

So if anyone interested, check it out.

We are now OUT! My bike seems to have developed the dreaded water pump seal failure while idling here in my garage today. With the work involved and time restraints to get the parts it's just not going to happen. So we'll be freeing up our Best Western rooms shortly. I swear man sometimes I think the moto gods are telling me I'm just not supposed to go on organized rides.
