I will be editing some of the video hopefully soon and will share those as well.

All,

I hope this post finds everyone safe and DRY. For those outside of Houston- we got hit hard downtown, the southwest, and the east side last night and this morning with LOTS of rain.

so here is my question: Does anyone know what the current conditions are at Kerrville and any idea how bad they were hit with rain these past few weeks?

I am not one to call off a ride due to rain, but since I only own a KLR and not a BMW ( aka German U boat) I just wanted to ask.

Comments or ideas on what flotation device to bring along?

Sincerely

Ratelbadger
("Hey does this orange flotation vest clash with my hi vis yellow helmet?")
badger, while talking, you mentioned that someone had built the racks for your KLR, would you happen to know who the builder was? i am leaving on an Arkansas,Oklahoma,Colorado and Arizona trip in two weeks and need a rear rack for the DR 650 Suzuki.

All,

It was a blast riding with the group, even though I was last most of the time. Maybe next time we can go off road in Bandera and I can change that lol

BTW the Tx Moto Photo's are up on his sight of the group and they look great!

Onemilewheely and Racerx, let me know the next time you ride and I can be the sweeper again lol or start the route a day earlier.

Thanks again for letting a KLR guy ride with you, one of the few times I get to 100+ and not feel to "weird."

Regards,
Stefan aka "Ratel"
read your post, if you are serious about two track and gravel, let me know there are a few places to ride in the hill country, some easy, some not.

Thanks for going to the effort to do this. I think the drone video portion was an excellent idea at the end of the day.

For future group rides, an aerial view going through the twisties would be amazing too. We could launch it from the same motofoto 337 location and capture video as folks go by on their bikes.

Ratelbadger,

You did an awesome job as the sweeper, it helped me out more than you know.

Thanks,

Viffer07,

I got my racks thru
http://dirtracks.com/1987-2015-Kawasaki-KLR-650-pannier-mounting-frameunpainted-0018.htm

I have used Pelican cases, and even some mil spec al cases on this rack system and they have held up. They do come unpainted, but that gives you the option to paint them to fit your bike. The fit was dead on and they supply hi load bolts so assembly was very quick.

As to dirt, we'll have to talk when you get back as I am planning on a 703cc upgrade for the KLR and that would be fun!

Stephan aka Ratel

Onemilewheeely

Glad I could help. If you need a sweeper, just let me know and I'll come along lol

Had a great time chasing y'all around the Three Sisters! Perfect weather, too.

Check it out! Video 2, Hwy337 to Leakey.
There will be a couple more videos soon. The next one is where I videoed some individuals through some corners.
Just FYI I'm trying to make one video for each set of roads we rode through thus not having one long video that you would loose interest in nor missing any of the awesome footage.

Great riding form on the 337 twisties!

I recognized the ST1300 forum riders at 4:40. It looks like they were in their Speedo swimsuit jumping into the Frio river.

:eek2:
