Sander, this is always a great ride, hopefully we didn't po Castroville parks and recreation too much
That's very good news! Gear worked. Heal up fast young man.I just spoke to Harold and Kenny driving back to Houston.
Kenny was discharged around 1130p last night. Concussion and broken collarbone.
Kenny sounded great, very upbeat and thankful. Said the Yancy fire department & EMTs were fantastic as well as the hospital staff. He's ready to heal fast to get back to riding.
He said the T7 was scratched, bent handlebars but in pretty decent shape considering a deer hit him on pavement about 65. Yes, the deer HIT him. There is deer hair embedded between the tire and rim.
Another testimate to ATGATT. And being TOUGH!
On the 701? Any idea yet what's up?Really enjoyed first half of the 200 mile route.
After lunch stop at Hermann Sons Steakhouse in Hondo, JT checked my oil, looked milky. Coolant is low. Dang it, my ride is done.
Very luckily, one of our group, DLDR (Doug)’s brother was in the area and had joined us for the meal. Brother Mark had ramps and tie downs and so was easy to give Beastie Boy the ride of shame back JT’s truck.
Huge thanks to Mark. So glad you were there!
Sander, really enjoyed the portion of the rt I did. You found some cool roads for us.
I noticed the barriers were up when we returned so someone notified the city roads to put them up .I was wondering how that played out after we left
Crossed it square in the center. Might have hit it at 25mph (+/-) (totally didn't see). Water jet hit my right boot and knocked it off the peg. Fortunately it had a smooth Rocky bottom. It spooked me a little. Just had to commit and ride it through. As they say, Adventure riding!Brian talking about hit one of the big puddles on one on the two roads that crosses Hondo creek.
Gina please keep us updated on what happened to your bike. You know how I want to learn about mechanical issues.
Now that Christmas shipping rush is over I hope you fill us in on your land development.

Who would have thought thought this would have been an issue after all these years, maybe it's not, Sammy seems to be accommodating thankfully. I a few of us also went in inside after the ride and got some to go as a parking thanks to Sammy's cafe. Ps, I've eaten their regular fare and the quality was excellent.I have noticed they usually have the barriers up after-hours. And they do have signs, BUT it is about attracting visitors...
The Steinbach Hus - Castroville Area Chamber of Commerce

Some people, well one person couldn't see past the sign verbiage vs overall goal. I had a few bosses like that.
At least she didn't call "Barney"...
I'll talk to the chamber of commerce new year, or just work with Sammy's.
