Tired

The bible has a lot to say about guarding your heart and mind. What we think on, dwell on, meditate on, what we fill our time and mind with, greatly influence our outlook and attitude.
Phil. 4:8,9 NKJ
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy---MEDITATE on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
I have been trying to master this for 27 years with a little success. I always speak this audible and it helps my thought life :) "Lord you said I can cast my cares upon you because you care. I just can not handle what's going on" .Not sure where it's at in Bible, maybe Peter, but the important part is I know where it has been written on my spirit heart and mind. I call it not telling the mountain how big it is, but telling the mountain how big my God is. I can express it with my own words of thanks giving.

Wow. That kinda just eliminates anything electronic, doesn't it!?!?!?!?!?:eek2:

I Peter 5:7 is the verse. I had a friend who died of covid a few months back. Windmill and I had breakfast with him a few months before he died. He was a great believer, but said he'd struggled with a porn addiction for years. He tried all he could to kick it but could not. He finally realized that he had to turn it over to God to resolve, and prayed "God, I really like to look at this stuff and I won't stop on my own because I like it so much. Lord please help me kick it; just take away the desire" He cast his care upon the Lord and it was solved shortly thereafter. He said it took confessing that he actually liked living with this sin in his life and had to simply cast it on the Lord to resolve. The Lord can improve us, but self improvement... not so promising.

That's where I started, to back out of the pit for sure. No more TV. No more google news. Lying government and political pundits. The new allowed list is weather videos, TWT, CL bike ads, free online seminary courses, and youtube music videos (probably not the ones you would think of). I can blow hours electronically if I let myself. And it only takes an hour or two of TV to see how the nation got trained to shoot people they disagree with, commit murder and sexual sins. Sin is crouching at our doorstep.

Revelation 12:12 NIV: Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows his time is short.

Yes and that roaring lion that is seeking whom he may devour has a legal right to be on earth. For now šŸ˜‚
I think slewfoot has stepped it up a notch in the last few years. I just say "you may not"

I'm going to go ahead and recommend the book that helped me a few years back, not just for Tracker, but for any of us. It's All Things New by John Eldredge. It really did give me a lot of hope. Blessings to all of you.

You posted and lo and behold our message yesterday was on attitude. Go figure. It was pretty good and maybe it applies to you or maybe it doesn't but I am sure many here could benefit by listening to it. I agree with most of it but disagree when he talks about outside influences or people don't effect your happiness with the right attitude. My biggest issue is people not doing what they ought to do. It causes me issues every day. I think most here are believers and most of us usually try to do the right thing but yeah, it definitely gets tiring when others don't do it. We are promised eternal life not a life without problems here. You have had some time to vent, not get back in there and embrace the grind.

Thinking often about this thread of late. This random song someone posted elsewhere is..... thought provoking.

I've been feeling a lot of the same way lately. This world is so full of evil. There's a lot of good, but the evil keeps pressing in on me. And the lack of understanding, the lack of wisdom, the lack of even any semblance of sense in our society is just oppressive.

It's a strange sensation to be sitting most every morning and thinking...... man, I'm so tired! So much loss of interest in things, so hard to get going and do just normal everyday tasks. You're acutely aware that it's wrong yet you can't get up the will to do much about it. I've been under a virtual artillery attack with business going on 5 years now, living hand to mouth, all safety nets are gone, yet every day I remind myself how fortunate I am compared to millions of others.

The weight of the world events since this virus came and the horrific government responses to it, that now continue in an economic apocalypse and a total blurring of much reality as to who and what people are just weigh on me like a stone. I sense a lot of that in what everyone's writing here. Staying busy is the best thing and sure enough, when I get going things feel better. Until I'm done. The long haul covid crap has really taken a toll on my body and I've lost a lot of strength and endurance. Can I get it back? I don't know anymore, but again, SO many people have that FAR worse than I did and do.

I don't see any answers on the horizon which is literally day to day anyway, but talking about it in very useful threads like this is a good thing, if for no other reason than realizing none of us is alone in it all. I hope our days get better. Soon.

First, thanks for those that have prayed for me. God is BIG, and I just needed to remember that.
Second, I still want to respond in a more detailed way - maybe not at a Tourmeister level, but some more detail and thoughts.
Third, this came to mind
But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. 8 Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day. 9 So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, 2 Peter 2:7-9a

First of all... "at a Tourmeister level" ?! :lol2:

Second, reading scripture is the BEST cure for what ails you :thumb:

I really like Psalm 119, the whole thing.

Then there are just all the various Pslams that talk about the plans of the wicked and the kings of the world... The point being that they are morons and God is still in control despite their best efforts to screw up everything imaginable.

A bit of humor!

My dear friend and biz partner cannot get through a single conversation with out SOME funny reference to something!
Our senses of humor are very aligned, and we both agree it's a major force in keeping us from the padded wall rooms.

I'm not worthy.... :hail:

My group of really long time friends of 40+ years ALL have a hard time getting through any conversation without at least one or more Monthy Python references.
