Deep Down

No pics....but an excellent day for riding yesterday... The usual lil skinny roads from FM185 Stripes to Patton then across 317 on Middle Bosque to Old Mosheim Rd
FM2602 ...a bit of TX6 then FM1991 & TX144 thru Walnut Springs to CR2008 & a bit of TX67 to Glen Rose for BBQ

After lunch..it was FM56 to CR1007 then 1008/Edwards Rd...Baker Xing... Coleman Ranch & Hutchinson Rds then FM2670 to Glen Cemetery Rd. A bit of 377 into Bluff Dale & bac down CR172/Loftin to Bakers Crossing & FM51/205

Then came a loop that I havent been on in quite some time. Deep Down Rd cuts off of FM205 at FM51 near Paluxy. Its paved for a bit then gravel on CR194. A couple of natural creek Xings then turn on CR104 (even skinnier) more Xings under the trees.
Down to CR194/2014 & FM51.

Finished up Somervell Co with CR1005/1004 to 67 then 2011/2013 & the nameless one

Oh...&...you really should use up some of the billiard table smooth black pavement on FM216 north of Iredell. FM1238 is always a great way to The Gap & from there CR4145/FM182 with new pavement to FM219

While we didnt have time yesterday...a prev ride yielded this....
I should also mention...off of FM1238... CR2130 & 2160 have been freshly paved down to Spring Creek & the fabulous FM1473. Not sure about the stretch of 2160 north of 2130. Some of the CRs from FM1473/4130 down to The Gap are also gettn new paved topping.

& yall of the unpaved persuasion....theres still plenty for ya....these are my favorites..NO DUST..still the same ol roads.

Yeah it’s one of those KTM’s that get ridden called Honda. You know you can’t ride that junk, you have had a few. KTM’s are the bikes you buy and never ride but tell your Buddies you have one and how awesome it is. Then you sell it with 800 miles on it and loose your A—.
 
Went to Dot's on I-45 for breakfast, then decided to go to Galveston.

Decided to head over to Surfside from there. I never knew that the bridge over the San Louis pass was a toll bridge. Luckily I had some cash on me or I would have had to turn around.
Came across a statue of Stephen F. Austin outside Angleton.

Park was closed so could not go in, but worked out since your not supposed to park on the roadway, but being closed, I was able to get this pic.

It was a beautiful day to ride for sure.

Got a free tour inside the old jail built in 1920. Even has a gallows on the 2nd floor but we were told it was never used.

Got out for a good ride today. 283 miles for the day with a ride across the Sam Rayburn Dam and lunch at Lake’s Area Seafood. Lake’s is at 13412 US-96, Brookeland, TX 75931. Met Bill Woodall aka Pub610 there.

Lunch was $12 and change for all that catfish. There were no green vegetables harmed in this lunch. [emoji16]
