Heal up proper guy, once I had to go 5 years due to vertigo caused from a hit and run. How about I think of you on my next trip coming up very shortly, like next week to North Carolina and Virginia.

Selling parts to re-do the front forks if anyone is thinking about doing that soon..

I'll also be posting up some other things soon like a barely used Sargent Seat (can't believe I waited so long to buy this seat and then got rid of the bike... ugh), and a stock windscreen.

PM me if you're interested, or keep an eye on the For Sale section of the board the next few days.

I'll post up pictures tonight, didn't get around to it last night.

Well, nevermind. achesley swooped in and bought the seat before I could post it.

The screen -- it's not in great shape, but it's perfectly usable (light scratches, etc). If anyone wants it, just pay for the shipping and it's yours.

Took the Bandit out for a bite to eat today and ended up riding for about 4 hours. While I was out I stopped by a Suzi dealer and took a look at all the eye candy. I may have made a $$$ mistake by sitting on one of the 2012 V-strom 650s. It just seemed to fit me perfect. I've never rode a 650 but I'm guessing it's not going to compare to the 1250 Bandit in get up and go. Guess I'll just have to schedule a test ride sometime!!!!

60 mpg is hard not to like and the torque 2 cylinder works great in the mountains. It's not quite as underappreciated as the Bandit and the new ones look good - especially in that organge

Back in '07 when I bought my DL1000 and put 16,000 miles on it in 14 months, Then traded it for my present '07 Bandit 1250S, I might still have that bike if I would of got the 650 instead of the 1000. Just never can tell. But, I miss those extra inches of suspension. Really miss the Telever Front of the BMW R11GS series..

'bout time! How sweet it is :)

I had a K7 Wee Strom (DL650) before I got my Bandit. I really liked it, and had I not found and ridden my 1250S from a really close local seller, I would probably still have it. It was more comfortable for long distances and had adequate power. However, it was no comparison to the Bandit when it comes to twisting the throttle. Power corrupts. I find the Bandit better for my LA freeway commuting. Kind of wanted to keep them both, but that was impractical. I sold it to a guy going to Alaska (for about the same price I paid for the Bandit, minus farkles, of course...), and I told him that if I were making that trip, I would take the Wee as well. Nice bike, feels bigger than the Bandit, and you sit more in it than on it. Check it out if you get a chance. Let us know how they compare for you.

Ya for You GA. A chilly 42 F temps here in Northern Arkansas with high cloudy sky.

thank guys. I'm sore but it will work out....I hope.

The wife wouldn't let me ride a charity ride today. She said it was too soon and after the 50-miles today I'm glad I listened. The ONE time I was about to really twist the throttle and get some zing time in there popped a LEO over the hill with perfect timing. Glad he wasn't late or I were early or this story would have had a unhappy ending :)

Glad to see it GA. just in time for winter ;-).
( I know... where you are there'll still be good riding days...)

I'm thinking bikes must kinda match your personality, and the Bandit matches mine. I see a lot of other bikes, and their cool. But I got no interest in any other. I know I'm odd in that this is the only bike I've ever owned, but man am I glad I got it, and took the time to learn how to ride it. I mainly just dart around my suburban town. But thankfully the terrain is rolling and the planners put in a lot of twisties to complement the grid. I usually run it up to 3/3.5K rpm, but when it's purring around 5K, that is power you hear and feel. Bringing it over and feeling an itch that my feet are clear is a nice lean. The bike moves, fast up and fast down. And now that it's jacket weather I miss the wind on my skin, but feel a different comfort suited up. I'm even looking forward to the snow--although only when the street is dry. :eek2:

Here is an old subject that may have new insight. Cruise control on the Bandit? For those of you that have been using it for sometime is it all that you expected or are there areas that lack? I'm looking at putting a Throttlemeister brand on my 07.

Poo Yii, I've been using Throttlemeister since my BMW days starting in '95. I think I rathered the old type with the knurly surface on them that the smooth ones of today. I had tried a Krokko < spelling > but it just was not the same quality and backed off if you used the throttle much with it engaged.
Also tried an Salamander < spelling again I'm sure > and I never did like it. I like the partial engagement for really ruff roads to help keep the throttle steady and easy to roll in the amount of drag you want for different riding conditions.

Recieved the Sargent Seat I bought from a fellow inmate today. Now, to go try it out and see how it feels. Felt quite different sitting on it in the garage as it puts me back up higher than the Corbin. See if we can do about a 100 or so mile run this afternoon to begin comparison tests. I have over 50K miles sitting on that Corbin so we'll see how the Sargent stacks up.

I bought a Sargent right after getting my Bandit. I could tell right away the stock seat was a torture device. Plus, the Sargent (from another member) was heated at a good price.

It's comfortable enough for me, but I do find it pushes me forward towards the tank. Probably can't modify it because of the heater, but I do like warm buns on a cold morning! (That's 50's F and below here in SoCal. You Canucks can feel free to scoff... :sun:)

Curoius of your comparison between the Sargent and the Corbin.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for being incarcerated. Its nice a "fellow inmate" sold his seat to you. I didn't know they let you ride when on the "inside". Sorry Andy, couldn't resist!

:lol2::lol2::lol2: We're inmates at large. ;-) . But, did do 150 miles even on the Sargent seat this afternoon in one sitting. A lot softer than the Corbin and taller. Cushioned the bumps better due to the thicker foam. Not bad at all. But, the jury is still out. I'll get a few more hundred miles on it and swap back to the Corbin.

Andy: If you ever want to give the "sarge" a workout, come out this way and I'll host some great twisties with something cold to quench your thirst!

Oh man, you just don't know how much I love California. Roads to die for. Used to be a two day trip in my youth, now a good 4 day trip. But, all on back roads. I do hope to get there next year early. I've been wanting to get back to the Hearst Castle and see it as it was too late my last trip by there.

Well, so far I only have about 300 miles on the Sargent seat. It's different for sure. Putting me higher on the bike and into the air flow coming over the screen more. Also had to adjust my cornering with the higher seat. Hoping to get a longer day on the thing shortly. Been on the KLR mostly the last week doing gravel roads I wanted to check out. The KLR is more fun on these freshly graded roads than Bandit is. ;-) But did do an oil change and chain clean/lube/adjustment on both bikes yesterday. Yea me. ha ha ha ha.
