Mr.Newbill - VANCE-A-COOLHANDLUKE Was also " HATCHED " !
Thanks for your post... I'm the newest TWT member that went on this very cool ride. There were more than several hot riders that always looked-out for us slow guys.
I see you're from Santa Fe, my wife and I have vacationed in northern NM and southern CO a few times. Each time I'm there it seems like there are thousands of dual sport bikes and an endless number of open-range legal riding trails. Am I right ? TX is real restricted by locked gates and no-riding ordinances.
I've always wanted to ride up in your vicinity. Thanks, Vance
The riding here is epic, thats all I can say! There are hundreds of miles of single track, and thousands of miles of Forest roads! If you make it out with your bike I would be willing to show you around!
Just heard from sanderjavant.
He is the "Man"
"Finished 3rd in the enduro.
Now on LA B To Vegas."
super job for sander. i'm still waiting to get these stupid casts off. they realy interfere with my riding and typing...

Ok, so three of us were up there right before Christmas. Rode Hackberry, Bullhead and Kent Creek, as well as some others. We tried one other though, and this one bothers me. Rim Rock Rd takes off of 337 between Camp Wood and Leakey going north, connects to Cougar Rd and it says in eventually ties into Dry Creek going into Barksdale. I made it part way down, but the connector at Cougar Rd is VERY rough, much more rugged than say Kent Creek. Discretion being the better part of valor we elected to turn around, but I think there is a way to get through. Has anyone done this?

My Garmine map on MapSource shows an un-named road connecting Cougar and Dry Creek. This usually means it is a private road.
But you probably already knew this.
Hope it goes thru though, that would be a nice addition to that area.
The last time I rode Dry Creek I made it to the house for sale (wasn't for sale then). There were some hunters sighting in their rifles there who told me the road beyond was private. We turned around at that point. I never called the County Commissioner to find out if what they told me was accurate or not.
