3 Amigos Explore NW Colorado

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your foot Gina. Hopefully a couple days rest and you can get out and do some riding.

I just heard about this cool upgrade for the Versys.....pull it in the garage, remove the radiator cap, pull the bike out of the garage, pull in a 500 and put the radiator cap back on. Bob's your Uncle.

😐 I spent hours loading pix yesterday. EA one took 8-12 min. If I didn't babysit, it would stop trying. But they were loading.

And then they disappeared 😭

We have packed up and are moving from Gates of Lodore cg to Green River cg. Some interesting stuff to do around there. and mebbe better cell.

Same upgrade available for the DRZ. ;)

We rode today and that is a story.

But first I want to include some pics taken along the way to camp.

This is on I70. Super neat stretch of interstate. Several tunnels and an upper and lower deck for several miles.

The Journey Home

I'll catch up on the report later. Just wanted to post these more or less in real time.

Today John drove from Monticello UT to where we will lay out heads in Roswell.

We drove most of Montezuma Canyon.

Down into the canyon.

I liked this old log cabin, leaning to one side. It had a stone chimney and, surprisingly, a solar panel.

Beautiful cottonwood

But we were thwarted by a stream. Deep sand mixed with silt. The truck alone, np. Pulling a trailer, a little dicey. We played it conservative and tucked tail.

After leaving the canyon, we picked up a section of the "Trail of the Ancients" a scenic byway that loops through Utah and NM.

For much of the day, everywhere we went, it looked like the rain had just stopped.
Then we see this ahead of us.

Quickly turned into this.

John hit the hazards and pulled to the shoulder. The hail hitting the truck was deafening.

In just a few minutes, it was over.
