New Africa Twin debut?

I got the rug rats baby chickens (live) last year.
That was funny.

2016 HONDA AFRICA TWIN – FIRST RIDE REVIEW

Pros:

– Clean-sheet design that delivers in all conditions
– Good suspension and chassis
– Refinement at every level

Cons:

– Power-to-weight ratio could be better
– Vague on-road handling
– A bit too sensible

It will probably nibble away market-share from the Tenere crowd a bit.

"And what's wrong with sensible?" puzzled the VStrom crowd.

I was stumped by that comment too. I think he meant it was a bit too bland and lacked some of the "attitude" of a lighter weight, high horsepower bike from from the likes of a KTM....just a guess.

If "bland" means reliable, then I am all ears.

Sensible. Reliable. Usable horsepower. All good things.

For me personally I would/could never tap into the full horsepower that KTM's 1190 has to offer. On or off road it is simply more bike than I need.

Coming from a KLR, I'm looking for something with a better suspension and a little more power for those long paved sections where the speed limit is posted at 75 MPH.

The AT, from what I've read delivers on both accounts in spades. Looking forward to it!

Safe travels,
TTR

Looks like you are getting one of these! Any word on win?

I have no official word on when they will hit the US. From what I've gathered it could be anytime between April and June. Apparently once the orders are placed by US dealers, there is a 3 month turn around on the first shipment.

Great points.

I call first dibs on your bike for the test ride at the next TWTEX sanctioned event. I bet even Kurt Diogenes will probably purchase one at some point the next year or so after he disposes of his current harem of European beauties.

:-P

Nope. As I have no desire to venture off road, I prefer shaft driven adventure style bikes with heated grips, tubeless tires and cruise control.

Yep, not dealing with chains and tubed tires could be a clincher for road riding. It might interesting to see a 800 cc dual-sport that is shaft driven.

I like Tubliss tire system for quick plug and go.

I wonder if they will have any Africa Twins at the bike show this month?

This has to be one of the biggest buildups to a new bike! lol Hope it full fills the dreams.

The tension is unbearable at this point.

Hand me a glass of cold milk please.

One thing is certain, at least for me. Regardless of color scheme, the Africa Twin is the best looking bike in its class.
